........... I haven't had any problems all day. Granted I'm not on 24hrs a day but we just got off of netflix.
UnholyLight  +   369d ago
That does seem to happen. Last time there was downtime I was back on Xbox Live before anyone on the east coast was. Sometimes it seems like my location (Western Canada) and West US have less trouble when Xbox Live goes funny for a couple hours or a day, than people in the Eastern region of North America.

Make sure you sign in to psn before 8 am Monday and keep it on all day if you want to play multiplayer. It'll be down from 8-8.. it won't let you access apps but if you make the cut off time you'll still be able to play multiplayer...seriously it doesn't matter what service you use, they all go down every now and then...psn more so but then again it's free. I'd rather have free decent service than over priced slightly more reliable service.

$4 a month is overpriced for a service that never has maintenance and rarely has downtime?
Oh_Yeah  +   370d ago
Yes, anything over 0$ for something that does the same thing as the other services and not much better is over priced in my opinion. I never bought gold the 6 years I've had a xbox. I don't play online enough for it to be worth it. When I do game online though it's ps3 because that 50-60$ is 1-3 extra games I could buy or saved for something else. I mainly use xbox for single player games, especially for Bethesda titles and other games which look and perform much better on it. Edit- damn, so part of the reason I was able to play and own all the games I did this gen was partially due to not buying xbox live. And your trying to say xbox live is good? O__o

well i don't pay for Live so this issue that has happened i pretty much don't care about.

only people who pay for something thats free like giving away money.

@oh Yeah

yup that $60 i save by not paying for online that i already pay for is going towards new games, or something else i can buy.

my 360 just sits under my tv barely being used, its the reason i decided not to purchase their new console.

Ever since of those rumors of MS having "Always Online" with the Nextbox, I wonder if these hackers did this on purpose to send MS a message. Makes you wonder.
neoand12  +   370d ago
Mine is still down since this morning. I just want to play Defiance. That game just got over the sign in issues and when they give us double XP and others XBL goes down. Bad time for Microsoft.
M-M  +   370d ago
If the hackers are doing this so Microsoft can see the "bad" in always online, they should keep doing this until they change their minds(still talking based on rumors).

Inb4 they were all laughing at Sony when they got hack in June 2, 2011.. Now, I don't know if Xbox fanboys still have a guts to laugh after this fiasco.. Tsk tsk tsk

They used to think that LIVE is most reliable Online service, heck they even underestimated sony's online service before and calling it obsolete..
Software_Lover  +   369d ago
.............. It wasn't hacked.

Well Seems to me Microsoft are handling the noise over this better than sony did in 2011. Both services are down from time to time. Sony more often take down psn or parts of it for maintainance and tweaking security, but people seem to pretend Microsoft never does this nor do they get hacked, but they do as their live have been breached.

The outcome havent been as grand as PSN 2011.
It was Sony's choice though to rewire security and structure, it took a shit ton of time and sucked big time but at that point it was the right thing to do although it turned out that no ones wallet were being emptied from that single attack.

Microsoft are doing a good job, Sony got their wake up call and they are doing great also.

But all this "Always on" negativity is becoming a bit tiring. I think people are misinterpreting it.
It would make no sense to call it ALWAYS ON, and then it isnt because your network went down...

I think it makes more sense that Always on refers to a system always being active, like the ps4 wich does all this synchronizing and background tasks even if you shut it down to stand by mode.
We will see for sure what all this is about when Microsoft reveals the system if there is anything to it at all that is.

IF Anon did indeed cause these service issues, its probably just a warning shot. They're letting Microsoft know if they do implement always online even to play single player games they will screw them badly at the time of launch.
