Saints Row and Metro films are a possibility with Koch Media

"THQ’s downfall may still be fresh in our minds, but several of its franchises, including Saints Row and Metro, are being well taken care of by other companies. Koch Media, for instance, may have something in mind with those two particular franchises.

Deep Silver, which is owned by Koch Media, purchased the Saints Row and Metro franchises from THQ in an auction. Koch Media could easily make film adaptations of either of the series. With investments in film production and distribution in Europe, Koch Media Chief Executive Officer Klemens Kundratitz told GamesBeat that they are exploring the possibilities of making film adaptations of their newly-acquired properties:

“[Those movies are] not out of the question,” Kundratitz told GamesBeat. “If a company can deliver that transmedia experience, we are probably one of the few that have the ambition and ability to deliver that.”"

With smaller studios, or studios desperate to make a game a movie is where the crap films come from. Directors like Uwe Boll are probably already knocking on their door "let me do it! I promise it will suck!"

Notice other studios that are a bit picky? Kojima is a pain, in a good way, because he wants to be apart of the MGS production, and stuidos hate that. They just want a stereotypical action movie with a character named Solid Snake. So it always gets passed up.

Ubisoft got tricked. Disney goes "one of our best directors will do yours, and give it a big budget!" how do you turn that down? Oh by watching him destroy your title....

Metro 2033 could make a tight little thriller. Saints Row? wtf, really? There's nothing there to adapt. It would be like Scarface directed by the Scary Movie guys with assisted production from Movie 43 writers.

I think the Metro universe could make a great movie. Not so much with Saints Row.

Metro could work. I would like to see them blend parts of the book and the game for the movie.

The Librarians from the book were better IMO. So was the part with Bourbon.

Saints Row would not work.
