Mickey Mouse will make an appearance in the next star wars game learning the ways of the jedi from yoda.

Everyone freaked out when Disney bought Marvel saying things like, "Mickey Mouse is going to make a cameo in every Marvel comic!"
As far as I can tell, Disney has done a great job so far by leaving the comics alone and making quality individual Avengers members movies and then assembling (yes, I did it) them into one great movie.

While we all lament the closing of LucasArts, the games that everyone loves and adores were released many, many years ago. While the projects they were working on before the axe fell looked interesting, most of them were probably nowhere near being done.

Now that Disney will be licensing all the properties out, the future does look promising. For example, Tim Schafer could possibly make another Monkey Island game, Naughty Dog could do a proper Indiana Jones game, etc. (These are just random examples)

We're talking about lamenting the guys who put the original BFIII developer under through sleazy schemes.

And I hate how everyone is misinterpreting the news. LA isn't shut down, it will still license franchises out to others.

While I won't say that Disney is going to be the best thing for Star Wars, its still better than LucasArts making the decisions. Same with the movies IMO (The Han/Greedo scene should be proof enough of that.).

There is a tiny ray of hope now where there wasn't. 1313 had a long ways to go before it was the "great" game everyone assumed it would be. And based on their recent track record, odds were it would be at best so-so. No big loss as I see it.

Shutting down the in-house development of LucasArts (which is all that happened really) will be good for the franchise. They clearly didn't have the vision, talent, or money to provide the Star Wars games people want to play.

There’s a reason that mouse wares gloves, so to not leave any fingerprints after he's f~~ked something......, as in Lucasarts which now lies dead and abused in a gutter.

MrDead1198d ago

It's "wears gloves" you tool.

MrDead1198d ago

Hey, screw you buddy!

i don't believe Disney "closed" Lucasarts per se. the reports said, Disney will only restructure what Lucasarts as a company is doing. so basically, they removed the in-house development part, and focused mainly on the licensing of its properties, which means they get to license other devs to do the development of games.

still sad though, as it meant people losing jobs.
