Nah, its probably easier to cry about it and submit an 'article' about it.

"Nothing about Gears of War: Judgment appeals to me, which is why I haven’t purchased it. I know that I shouldn’t really judge a game until I’ve played it and maybe Judgement is fun and engaging, but I just can’t bring myself to even try it. "

What a load of tosh.

Completely pointless and terrible article.

Thanks for the creative criticism...

I thought highlighting what was wrong with your 'article' would have sufficed but if you want me to elaborate on my creative criticism, I'm more than happy to do so.

You start off your article singing praises for the franchise and its "flawless gameplay mechanics and jaw-dropping graphics" but then suddenly state that "it has become yet another tired franchise that needs to end."

So the more discerning reader will ask, "Why young man? Why, should a game, which you enthuse has such amazing qualities, come to an end?" Then we encounter your second paragraph:

"Nothing about Gears of War: Judgment appeals to me, which is why I haven’t purchased it. "

Hold on a minute...you haven't even purchased the game so how can you even begin to form a remotely respectable opinion? You know what, let's just give you the benefit of the doubt because, well "its Friday , you aint got no job, you aint got s*** to do" [Quoted from the movie Friday (1995) starring Ice Cube and Chris Tucker].

Okay so let's continue with my creative criticism. You go on to say in this paragraph " maybe Judgement is fun and engaging, but I just can’t bring myself to even try it." Right. At this point I'm thinking that an appendix extracted from a corpse tied to a skateboard controlled by a cat holding a Pepsi can would serve humanity better. But, again, its Friday, benefit of the doubt and all...

You state "I, however, never played Gears for its story." but later on, go on to say "Say what you want about the third game’s story-line but personally I thought it offered a satisfying conclusion " Eh? What trickery is this? Oh so this is what a contradiction is. And yes, this is what condescending is, but its Friday so I should get a benefit of the doubt as well.

All joking aside, your article is all over the place and has very little substantive value. You jump all over the place with the points you struggle to make and most of your points just appear to be conjecture owing to the fact that you haven't even played the game:

"Opinions on Judgment are divided. Some fans say that it offers an interesting re-working of the classic Gears formula and others that it’s a massive step back for the series. The multi-player certainly seems to have been severely stripped down."

So there you have it. Even if you don't agree with my criticisms, surely you can agree it was creative? No? Ah what do you care- you got the hit you were seeking. ;)

PaoloGiovanni011682d ago (Edited 1682d ago )

You know what, in most of the points you make I agree with you. There are points that I wish I had elaborated on more, and I was weary of some criticism that could be brought forward against me. I could have definitely worded my points a lot better than I had.

I'll certainly bear your comments in mind next time. By the way this was very funny "At this point I'm thinking that an appendix extracted from a corpse tied to a skateboard controlled by a cat holding a Pepsi can would serve humanity better"

I don't mind the article I've posted, but I wish I had the time to structure it better. Bravo.

@PaoloGiovanni01

You've been such a sport about this that, even though I was being comical in my response, I bow my head in shame and apologise for being condescending. But its Friday :D

Anyway, best of luck to you kind sir and I hope you have no ill-feelings towards me. I hereby approve your article contrary to my earlier reservations.

I am Jack's seeping bile duct.

PaoloGiovanni011682d ago

No need to be shameful at all good sir, and there are definitely no ill feelings at all. I have been feeling rather lazy in my writing lately, and your comments were exactly what I needed to give me a bit of a slap in the face. :D

I respect Paolo for being a genuinely nice guy who though the article title suggests it's flame bait you can tell his not trying to be.

His just a gamer expressing his honest opinion.. And since this gen we are all to quick to jump down people's throats if they say anything about a console we like just because this fan boy crap has overtaken any common sense that we can no longer be objective, our gaming company of choice whether it be ms or Sony can do no wrong these days in the minds of fanboys... We jump in the trenches to defend forget common sense

I also applaud septic for being man enough to apologise for being harsh

Bubbles to you both your little spat has made me remember the good old days of gaming where we can be objective without fear of being labelled a fanboy

That's why the series needs to go multiplatform ;)

I'm a PS fan but gears is a great game, over saturated but great. I would be surprised if its not a launch title for the next Xbox.

The perfect article for the average N4G reader.
