The Sorceress is armed with different spells like a chilling blizzard attack and Mega Man’s Tornado Hold. Just like Siliconera revealed in our Dragon’s Crown interview, the Sorceress can reanimate skeletons and turn enemies into frogs.
Her skill set is awesome, amongst other things ;)
This article needs to be renamed "The Tits Casts Tits and Reanimates Tits in Tits.". These games are getting ridiculous...
Interesting physics engine use...
What are those boobs ? Bananas ? D:
Correction, one is for HP, the other is Mana.
Not the way she throws spells around. Besides; Why you think baby got back?
Thats how she re-animated bone--...errr i mean skeletons.
At this point, they just need to rename her Boobs. Sorceress would imply magic, and that clearly isn't the main focus here lol...
Oh Japaneses developers, The boobs are blinding you in making quality games. Why don't you stop objectifying women in almost every game making things like that the number one thing apparent in almost every trailer, and concentrait on good quality ones?. There is only a handful of quality Developers left, and this developer is certainly not one of them. What a shame really.
" The boobs are blinding you in making quality games." Too bad most of the Japanese developers still put up much better games than most western developers do then. "There is only a handful of quality Developers left, and this developer is certainly not one of them." Why? Because they decided to create exaggerated characters instead of going for the "we should totally cater to feminists and white knights" route? Why don't you say the same thing to the overly masculine male characters in the game that are obviously designed to be in offensive roles? Isn't that also objectifying men? Also calling a developer "bad" because of how they chose to design a female character is just unecessary and shows how much you care about style rather than the gameplay itself.
"Too bad most of the Japanese developers still put up much better games than most western developers do then." -That's your opinion and you are entitled to one. "Why? Because they decided to create exaggerated characters instead of going for the "we should totally cater to feminists and white knights" route? Why don't you say the same thing to the overly masculine male characters in the game that are obviously designed to be in offensive roles? Isn't that also objectifying men? " - what a way to summarize what I like and don't like. Obviously gameplay for me trumps every other thing in a game, and this gameplay is nothing special. But yes, I will admit that this direction in how they portray female charecters influenced my decision more. I don't cater to the faminist movements but at the same time, I care for a woman to be portrayed in a modest manner. Different strokes for different folks. Enjoy this game if it caters to you
why don't western devs stop objectifying men.
What!? when was the last time you saw a man's thing right up your face!?.... wait don't answer that
"when was the last time you saw a man's thing right up your face!?" So when someone says something about objectification of a gender, you only think of genitalia of said gender being exposed? Just wow.
There is no objectification going on anywhere. It's just devs assuming (rightly, apparently) that most gamers are horny nerds that want to see boobies every second of the day, context be damned. I like looking at tits as much as the next guy, but it's getting a little goddamn ridiculous at this point. Not every game needs to be potential fap material, for gods sake.
To be fair the Amazonian in Dragon's Crown overemphasizes everything but the breasts. I actually have hard time just glancing at the image.
The Great Melon pretty much pointed it out, but all of the main characters are basically caricatures of typical RPG / sword and sorcery characters. They are supposed to be over the top... Personally, I'm deeply offended how the dwarf is clearly several centimetres shorter than your average dwarf. (end sarcasm)
@US8F "There is only a handful of quality Developers left, and this developer is certainly not one of them" Wow, congrats dude, you got 'the most dumbest person' award for this day. It is obvious that you don't know shit about Vanillaware. And i don't think you ever play one of their games too.
just imagine what else she could..."reanimate" LOL.
Wonder how many people checked this article out for the boobs :P
I click the article because I saw the boobs.. nothing more, nothing less..
Yeah and you guys are the ones who think developers are obsessed with boobs and that is all you guys have been talking about. How about 'i can't wait for Dragon's Crown' or 'nice scenery' or 'cool spells' or 'I can't wait to see what the other characters can do'. Who are the ones who are obsessed now?
Yeah, their brains only filled with boobs instead 'Hey, that's a cool feature right there. I can't wait to play this game because it's reminds me of Golden Axe' or something like that. Just look at US8F, his so obsessed with boobs and ignore what Vanillaware wants to offer with Dragon's Crown.
The game looks interesting I wonder if her back has problems with the size of her juggs.
I just love it that Belldandy herself is voicing the sorceress, the talented Kikuko Inoue! Gamers know her as Sunny & Boss from MGS, I-no from Guilty Gear. Also for those questioning the art style of the game it is no different than how American artist draw women in Marvel or even something like Heavy Metal. To some it may seem like over sexualization, to the west it may be but in Japan it is pretty normal. The otaku crowd is much more abundant over there than it is here where we are too sensitive to stuff to often. I think the art style is pretty interesting & being created by George Kamitani the art director i like his style. He is the president of Vanillaware & has worked on Odin's Sphere, Muramasa, Princess Crown so this is a far departure from what we are use to seeing, doesn't mean it is bad.
