Insomniac Games updates gamers about Fuse

On May 28, the next title out of Ratchet & Clank developer Insomniac Games is due to release. A third-person shooter, Fuse is a sci-fi adventure set on a futuristic Earth which centers around an alien substance known as "Fuse". The substance is used to power the special weapons with which the game's characters come equipped. (Fuse, PS3, Xbox 360)

I've never heard of Fuse before. Interesting that they'd go right from one sci-fi shooter to another.

I think they were kind of hired to make what they are known to do. I kinda hope they still go make some games for Sony after this and get a little creativity thrown their way!
Good_Guy_Jamal  +   737d ago
At the cost of not being able to own the IP they work so hard on. Yeah no.
thebrownbox  +   737d ago
@Good_Guy_Jamal

Well it seems better than not having total creative freedom with your own IP... If Sony is going to invest in a franchise and help fund/publish it then of course they are going to want the rights to the IP to keep it exclusive... Why does it matter to you if they own it or not?
Good_Guy_Jamal  +   737d ago
Insomniac says it matters to them. So it must mean something to them to be able to own their work. If they were happy letting SONY own their work then they would have stayed exclusive.
It's not rocket science.
Also, they've gone on record saying EA has indeed allowed them creative control, but I suppose that's only believable when said about SONY right?
The whole Fuse/Overstrike debacle may have led many to believe otherwise, my Insomniac have said they are the ones at the wheel and those that have played the game don't seem concerned over the artistic overhaul.

I vote that Insomniac continue being independant, especially of SONY, they don't market Insomniac games very well, Resistance 3 case in point.

EA is helping fund and publish FUSE and yet they aren't demanding full and exclusive control of the IP, I don't understand why SONY can't be expected to do the same. Do you think Insomniac don't deserve to own what they make? Heck even Microsoft of all evil corporations allowed Remedy to keep rights to Alan Wake.

"I vote that Insomniac continue being independant, especially of SONY, they don't market Insomniac games very well, Resistance 3 case in point."

And you honestly think Fuse is going to sell more than Resistance, or do evenly remotely as good under E.A.? LMFAO! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, OK buddy! XD

If E.A. didn't give a crap about Army Of Two: The Devil's Cartel (Which was made by Visceral Games, one of E.A. MOST POPULAR STUDIOS may I add), what makes you think they'll put any effort WHATSOEVER into marketing Fuse???????

Fuse is gonna FLOP SO HARD under E.A. it's not even funny...

There's a reason why Insomniac pushed it back to second quarter. They realized it would get totally destroyed releasing in the same month as Tomb Raider, GOW, Gears, and Bioshock. LOL

Not that it'll help much though. NOBODY, and I mean NOBODY (out of all the gamers I know) even knows what the hell Fuse is. XD

Thanks to E.A.'s AWESOME marketing...

So yea, I'm willing to bet that OVERSTRIKE! The awesome looking "would've, could've, and should've" been game that Insomniac ORIGINALLY WANTED to create, would've done A LOT better than Fuse. -_-

A game that was influenced by a retarded "Focus group".

Fuse looks like it'll flop no matter what platform its on.

If its fall of man 2 ill buy it for $50-60 bucks.

@Jamal

Yeah, they seemed real broken up about that fact for the 15 preceding years. /s

No, they thought they would make more money by going multiplat and lost a little something as they signed up with one of the most lost publishers around.

Bottomline, Insomniac don't WANT to be exclusive to SONY anymore. End of.

I hope this isnt Haze 2013.
thebrownbox  +   737d ago
Based on what i've seen on the characters so far, I think it will have waaay more personality that Haze. And I'd like to think Insomniac has a much better track record than Free Radical. Let's hope it's a hit!

"next title out of Jak & Daxter developer Insomniac Games"

Uhh...

Typo. Fixed. Thanks for the catch.
That's not a typo. That's just you not knowing wtf you're talking about. A typo would be something like spelling "stop" as "sotp".

I don't know, Ted. I love Insomniac, but this game seems rather...forgettable. :/
Knushwood Butt  +   737d ago
I wish them all the best, although I'm not entirely convinced that this is on my radar.
Sarobi  +   737d ago
When they first announced this game I didn't think much of it - as of now.. more or so the same.
