Will Battlefield 4 Impress or Be Just Another FPS?

Gi - Taking the time to watch the entire Battlefield 4 demo posted by Electronic Arts and DICE does take diligence; and while there are some impressive feats within the trailer, it leaves much to desire from a title that is being so heavily publicized as a next generation game. Of course, the video is running at an impressive 60 frames per second and shows off much of what the Frostbite Engine 3 can do. Well it does kinda look like BF 3.5--hopefully DICE will reveal more at E3.

Here's hoping that it isn't BF 3.5

BF3 did rile a lot of the series faithful the wrong way with its removal of the Commander mode, increased accessibility (i.e more 'casualisation'- IR scope, OP shotguns, doritos etc) and other things such as that almighty supernova of a sun, base capture placements on the map, reduced destructiblity etc.

Commander mode really needs to come back I think. It was such a brilliant feature and its removal really didn't set well with BF3.

how can it be anything more than a fps? That is what it is! You can add more emotional expression to it maybe via story and graphical facial quality, But that is that. The new generation of games imo need a drastic change of player input and output via a new controller device? Vr anyone? But its not happened, maybe in the future? Until they radically upgrade the actual way we play the game and observe it through the senses, dont expect anything of a stellar difference.
