Metacritic Matters: How Review Scores Hurt Video Games

Bugs in Fallout: New Vegas might have eaten your save file. Maybe they took away a few hours of progress, or forced you to reset a couple of quests. Maybe game-crashing bugs pissed you off to the point where you wished you could get your $60 back. But they probably didn’t cost you a million dollars.

The story is too old to be commented.

Review Scores & Sales Figures are two things that mattered to MOST many internet fanboys this generation- two things that no one cared about during the Japanese Classic Gaming Eras of Nintendo, Sega and Sony: from the NES to PS2(the pre- Microsoft Xbox age of video gaming). Because then all that mattered were GAMES gamers can actually play.

Games actually made gamers happy back then not review scores and sales figures. Games that they are just simply humbly grateful they have the opportunity to play.

Game quality, innovation, avant garde, diversity, variation, awards, criticism, and progression does not matter anymore. Now its totally the opposite. So many gamers attitudes has changed. So many spoiled and brain washed gamers using review scores and sales figures to gain any form of satisfaction from the ACTUAL games themselves.

Like with PS1 and PS2 I hope Sony and PS4 will bring gamers back to what matters most - the games.
