A Rare Look At The Blazing-Fast Hands Of A StarCraft II Champion

Korean players excel at StarCraft, putting enormous effort into improving their game. We see the results of those efforts in game replays, but rarely do we get to peek over the shoulder of one of the world's top players as their supernatural hands do horrible things to their opposition. (PC, Starcraft II)

Tip-tip-tip-tip-tippy-tip ... TAP.

That's all you need to know.

I could do all that with one keystroke.

I can imagine playing Red Alert 2 with him.

Me: Ah okay here we go. Time to create some barracks so I can make some infantr........

WTF?!
Septic  +   658d ago
CRAZY! I need to hire him as a typist. He'll probably type stuff before I dictate it!
Athonline  +   658d ago
He is better than Apple's Siri and Google's Google Now!

Strange how sometimes you CAN judge a book by it's cover.
GribbleGrunger  +   658d ago
Dry and highly amusing. Bubble :)

Most of these keystrokes don't actually serve any purpose for most of the game (notice how he starts doing this during the loading screen). It's just a way for them to warm up and be ready in case something serious happens.

For instance, instead of telling his units to move, he tells them to movemovemovemovemovemovemove at the exact same location repeatedly.

If anything it's not so much that he can click fast, but rather that he has nothing really to do in that time, so he clicks neurotically as he waits for the game to progress a little.

I remember watching a lot of videos for the original Starcraft that showcased some amazing micromanagement. It's was really impressive to see how some of the pros had the timings of the animations down so well that they knew the exact moment to cancel an action. Likewise, precision mouse movement was another thing that always impresses me as it is difficult build that skill unlike finger speed.

necessarily true, he isn't really clicking that much, most of it is shuffling between hotkey.
iRocket  +   658d ago
Sometimes I just watch these videos and then just look at my fingers and think; "Damn, I'm slow".

aiBreeze  +   658d ago
Apparently pro gamers in South Korea are treated like rock stars and actually do get all the women.. strange country.
Pozzle  +   658d ago
To be fair, we have "celebrities" like the Jersey Shore crew who get fame, fortune and probably a lot of sex. So I guess pro-gamers being popular isn't that strange when you think about it.
Septic  +   658d ago
Tru dat pozzle
Fiona  +   658d ago
wow. Nicely put. you made me sit back and think about that. Kind of sad.
Hicken  +   658d ago
And I'd rather be a pro gamer than one of those.. individuals any day.
aiBreeze  +   658d ago
I thought I was fast but wow, that guy is something else.
ninjahunter  +   658d ago
Meanwhile a pro call of duty gamer is having a mental breakdown because of lag compensation.
Athonline  +   658d ago
Wow! And without want to sound like an ass, but I found this quote fitting: "He tried to finger a girl once... she died..."
ninjahunter  +   658d ago
Shoulda saved that for when he plays Redzone on slap bass. (its a thing)
Athonline  +   658d ago
Next time ;-)
Septic  +   658d ago
Lol!!
brave27heart  +   658d ago
I'm more comfortable with a control pad. That constant clicking would annoy me.
DomceM  +   658d ago
so dont use a redswitch keyboard that makes all the noise?

lol...

Use a blue switch!

These people play them 8hrs a day like their day job. In fact it is their day job in South Korea.
Shaolen  +   657d ago
Off camera, there is a slow-drip with a 5 gallon jug of red bull attached to his arm, and he is hooked up to 2 car batteries. :/

Damn he is fast! haha, but i also dont understand why they have to move soooo fast, half the time they really arent doing anything important or moving around.

EDIT: Later on in the game i see where it comes in at, it does come in handy being able to manage 200 things at once
