Rumour: Namco Bandai Not Opposed To Releasing Ni No Kuni For The 3DS

Ni no Kuni captivated many anime fans and roleplaying game enthusiasts when it hit retails shelves earlier this year.

Released as a collaborative effort between Level-5 and Hiyao Miyazaki's Studio Ghibli, Ni no Kuni found a good home - and a receptive audience - on the PlayStation 3.

Yet it might branch out from there, according to an executive from publisher Namco Bandai who recently said that his company wasn't opposed to releasing the Award-winning PlayStation 3 RPG for the Nintendo 3DS. (3DS, Namco Bandai, Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch)

If true, it would be interesting to see. Wasn't the original Ni No Kuni (Japan-only) on the DS? JRPGs feel right on a handheld, and a lot of people would be able to enjoy it. It's an awesome game but I think the gameplay is better suited for a handheld.

Next, put Xenoblade Chronicles on the 3DS. Yes please!

Agreed. I'd much rather play an 80+ hour RPG on a console that isn't bound to the living room. Lets me get more accomplished in the game.

Ya it was on the DS, would be great to see this game release on the 3DS :D

It would sell really well.

I think they are talking about the DS version of the game, which I here is very different.
AnotherProGamer  +   771d ago
in the article it says the PS3 version
3-4-5  +   771d ago
READ....they mention both to recap it's history with Nintendo for those who didn't know.

A Prior Ni No Kuni game was released in Japan only for DS.....different game though.

This one...the PS3 version....is the version they would think about porting over since it's the new one and would have the most interest.

resident evil revelations looks miles better than anything on the ps2.
Neko_Mega  +   771d ago
What does PS2 have to do with this gen?

My PC games look better then resident evil revelations lol.

Sorry, you fail.
Ps2? Seriously dude? I get you wanted to reply and defend Ninty but but c'mon!

Apples and Broccoli.

I agree with majiebeast, a Vita version would be great.

Why not both?
AdvanceWarsSgt  +   771d ago
Because fanboys want all games to only be on their platform of choice.
Moncole  +   771d ago
Ni No Kuni is on the DS so its not an PS3 exclusive.
Qrphe  +   771d ago
Because they'd probably be Japan-only again.

Where's The Vita Love?
chrispseuphoria  +   771d ago
Namco Bandai don't have faith in the Vita within North America. Hideo Baba, the creator of the Tales of series said that.
lizard81288  +   771d ago
Sometimes I wonder if Namco Bandai has faith in releasing their games over seas....Alot of their games are JPN only, expect for things like SC and a few other games.
Killzoner99  +   771d ago
lol, like this game could even run on the 3DS. That's just cruel , why would you get the Nintendorks hopes up like that? Crossplay on Vita will be next.
WeAreLegion  +   771d ago
Port the DS version to 3DS. Port the PS3 version to Vita. :)
MrWonderful  +   771d ago
Start the petitions fot the vita port and the 3ds port. Many people deserve to play this gem!
Apocalypso  +   771d ago
Who would be opposed? Anything that gets more money into their hands to make more amazing games is fine by me.
Magnus  +   771d ago
Vita or 3DS it doesn't matter it was a great game I wouldn't mind playing a handheld version. Just wish they would hurry up and pump out a sequal to this game.
wingman32x  +   771d ago
I really hope this happens. I had my eye on this game for years, but I had no PS3 to play it on because mine broke earlier that year. If it can be done, I would fully support it.
coolasj  +   771d ago
Port it to the Vita. Slap on Cross-Buy. Immediate purchase for me.
kirbyu  +   771d ago
This is a Namco game?

Well now I get why I once saw someone suggest the hero in it be in SSB4.
tiffac008  +   771d ago
Why not upgrade it to the 3DS or Vita? and I hope they bring over the book as well. Even in limited edition a hard copy of the Wizard Book would be cool.
