Nintendo's Wii has topped the Japanese hardware chart for the week ending the 9th of March. According to the latest figures from Media Create, the Wii sold 57 068 units (last week it sold 64 535 units) to beat last week's winner the PSP by roughly 3 000 units.
Most of the platforms experience a sales drop this week, apart from the PS3 and the Xbox 360. The PSP sold 53 924 units in comparison to 73 706 units last week to earn it second place on the hardware chart. It beats its handheld rival the Nintendo DS by a reasonable margin, the Nintendo DS sold 48 658 units this week in comparison to its 51 922 units last week.
The PS3 sells 21 008 units to take fourth place on the chart (last week it sold 13 520 units) while the PS2 sells 10 429 units (last week 10 986 units) and the Xbox 360 2 891 units (last week 2 282 units).
