Both Nintendo and Sony have been kind enough to accept invitations to present at the Full Indie Summit. They'll share with developers the steps needed to get games onto consoles and give a rundown on the great improvements they've made over the past year to streamline the process.

The summit will takes place on April 20th from 10am to 4pm. (3DS, Dev, Industry, Nintendo, PS Vita, PS3, PS4, Sony, Tech, Wii, Wii U)

On-topic: reading the article/pdf I feel for those guys.
It's great that both companies are stretching out in order to reach more developers.

Nintendo is really going in for the Indy guys.......it looks like they are building up relations for the future !

Nintendo and Sony both, and good on them. There's a lot of untapped talent out there.

I'm liking the direction Nintendo and Sony are going with Indies. Indie developers tend to be some of the most creative people in the business, plus this route is far more sustainable in the long run than the bigger is better focus of a lot of AAA games nowadays.

Sony is going to get the most indie support. I'm not going to list the upcoming indie games coming to Playstation platorms, too lazy . I can tell you one thing.... it's A LOT : D

On the Nintendo front, haven't heard that much coming to the Wii U and 3DS.

nintendo has quite a lot of em man.. Have you browsed their eshop? Im sure that wont just stop either.. Sony of course will have more power & features on their side to make the games better imo but nintendo isnt lacking on the indie dev side

I know Nintendo has indie support, Sony has more.

The PS4 isn't even out yet, and e3 is right around the corner, I think it's impossible to tell who has more indie support right now.

"The PS4 isn't even out yet, and e3 is right around the corner, I think it's impossible to tell who has more indie support right now."

well in my opinion it is indeed Sony has more indie support, because Sony just has more indie centric platforms than Nintendo does.

for example:

Nintendo has the Eshop, which is very good and very healthy in indie support sofar. but, I would like to add Nintendo does not have as many indie centric platforms as Sony does.

while Sony has:

PSN+playstation Mini's
Playstation Mobile
Playstation Home

just by playstation Home alone Sony has over 500 Games that are made by various indie developer's and indie Publisher's. Lots of Gaming content right there alone.

While the AAA games are drifting further and further into the "safe" zone just to pull a measly profit, the indies are the ones taking the big risks, and they are the ones providing the unique, fun, and colorful experiences.

To top it off, many of the indie developers that are putting out games on PS3/4 and Wii U cut their teeth making AAA games, so they have both the experience of making huge games that sell and huge amounts of creativity that they finally get to bust out after years of being crushed by a large publisher.

sony and nintendo really need to collab on something

Tried & it failed to come together due to money disputes.. They wouldve wiped out sega long before dreamcast & anything else in its path.. However, i dont think the console business would be as big & diverse if it had happened.. They're too different from each other which is a good thing.. It adds diversity to the gaming industry..

I'm glad to see that Sony and Nintendo are reaching out to these guys. I believe the indie scene could very well be a major factor for this upcoming generation.

Good news indeed. But something is missing. I know there are 3 companies in the gaming business. I wonder why theyre not invited since They treat Indie devs with respect and courtesy. Even lowering the game price from $15 to $10 so that many will buy it because of low price it has... NOT!!!! LOL XD

Where's that other company who apparently still cares about gaming even though their next console is- according to the non-"negative" rumors- gonna be a cable box?

"If" Nintendo ever hang in the towel they should keep making handheld games and systems but better quality. Never ever let Nintendo deal with Microsoft only Sony. I hope for the best on Nintendos new Wii U i'll keep mine around for 1st party.
