Opening Hours: Defiance

Gamer Euphoria writes:

''I approached Defiance in a some what cautious manner. The trailers and assets released prior to the game’s launch did little to excite. Other reasons why I was hesitant to jump into Defiance surrounded its target market, the console owning non-MMO player. As something of a MMO veteran, I’ve seen what the very best has to offer, as well as the worst. With all that being said, I decided to invest in Defiance, the PC version of Defiance.'' (Defiance, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

At the end of the day I'm having a lot of fun with this game.

Easy to pickup after work and kill some hours

combat is exciting and the arkfalls are almost epic

it really deserves a try from everyone because you can pickup a copy for under $40 (AUD) and it will offer at least 1 months entertainment, which is good value imo

This is just the first part, since this part was written we've played anther 6 hours. So expect the next part to includes episode quests, story quests, pvp and more world events. It's a well made game, just needs more quest variation.

"Opening Hours is a run down of the early stages of any given MMO I’m currently playing. This feature is mainly produced instead of a review, as MMOs take months to play through and fairly review."

Well look at that, reasonable people.

I think you'll find that the quests don't get much more varied as you go forward, but for me the the game is a ton of fun and has lots of potential.

We seen it as only fair to review the game in this manner, after all the early stages of MMOs are indeed slow and staggered!

I agree that it's fun and has plenty of potential. I can't help but think the game was put out in a state to coincide with the TV show. Hopefully the content from now represent a growing, expanding, mmo.

I really enjoy playing this game. It's pretty much exactly what I wanted. And with friends? Fuhget aboudit!

Agreed. The people who say it isn't what they expected didn't do much research before they purchased. It's exactly what I thought it would be and I love it. I think a lot of the low reviews stem from one of two things, reviewing it on a 360, which has had the most problems, and PC reviewers who expected more MMORPG and less MMOTPS, despite the fact that Trion was always clear about what kind of game it was. Trion says all DLC will have free components to it, so this game will only get better whether you spend more or not. I almost never buy season passes but I'll be getting this one.
