A Look Back: Preorders

Being able to go into a store on a major game or system launch day and buying it is becoming a thing of the past. Preorder it to make sure you have it.

The story is too old to be commented.

Its so true! You dont need to pre order anything anymore!

Wish the stores would go back to enticing you to preorder with physical material rather than DLC. I guess I'm old fashioned in that regard.

With the big game console launches like PS4 there will be consoles in short supply and they often cut preorders at a certain point.

I just think.......preorders work for the people who make them. sometimes you just need to make sure you have every dime down on something you want so you can get your hands on it the moment its out there. its got nothing to do with how many will be sitting in the store a few days later.

What i really miss is in the nes games days and going into a store not even knowing whats new now that was an adventure

Or the arcades! You didn't have some guy telling you what you like.

still remember going to the arcade to play the Simpsons or X-men or Ninja Turtles. Would get some Mcdonald's and if I was good while my mom went shopping, I could play in the arcade. Loved those times.

I miss going to the store and flipping the page over to see what was on the back of the box and decide if I wanted the game that way. I mean you can still see the back of the box but I guess it was a different time then.
