Skyrim 1.9 PS3 | Xbox 360 Bug Breaks Legendary Skills

GR - "Back up your saves. The new Legendary skills are broken." (PS3, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Xbox 360)

Donnieboi  +   505d ago
I don't believe this crap is happening again! Bethesda is run by a bunch of college drop-outs who can't code for nothing! Seriously, why don't they just hire some extra coders who have actual skills?

Thanks for warning us in advance with this article.

You do know most developers never went to collage right? Most of the guys that work on God Of War haven't.
NegativeCreepWA  +   504d ago
They have no skill, but yet no other dev has ever made a game like TES or Fallout better than them.
violents  +   504d ago
So if you make a pile of crap you get to be proud of it because no one else has crapped bigger than you?
DonkeyWalrus  +   504d ago
@violents

You obviously haven't seen that episode of South Park...

Not one Bethesda game is a pill of crap, if they were millions of people wouldn't be investing a few hundred hours of their lives into playing them.

You say that as if its easy to develope an open dynamic game. Every single time you change one piece of code it affects dozens of others that affect dozens of others and so on. Change the duration of days in the game? Suddenly the entire weather system no longer works, NPC's dont follow schedules correctly, and a slew of other things. This isnt like developing killzone where you just say "if player grabs X item unlock next corridor" there are literally hundreds of times more variables to take into consideration than the derp fest that is modern games.

Credit is definately deserved for developing a varied and interesting open world but at the same time alot of these glitches and bugs are so easily noticed after downloading and installing that it's ridiculous. Would you notice a lack of experience being built up if you were play testing something, let alone some of the other obvious things that bethesdas patches have broken? I know things happen and not everything can be taken into account but if it's going to be every patch needs a patch to fix the patch then maybe the game just shouldn't have been made at all...

I've always had a habit of making tons of saves files in Oblivion. I still haven't played Skyrim, but I guess keeping countless save files is a necessity for this game as well.

Looks like the Legendary skills aren't so Legendary.
Godmars290  +   505d ago
Legendarily broken maybe.

Actually, how's Fallout 3 for bugs. been sitting on the PS3 GOTY edition meaning to play.
mrkeith  +   505d ago
Fallout 3 is fine. I had no issues with it.
WorldGamer  +   505d ago
There are some issues with Fallout 3 man. Keep some backup saves just in case. Great game tho, typical Bethesda bs tho.
TheSaint  +   504d ago
Make sure you install it on the hard drive correctly.

You honestly have to fret over the damn game like to make it work right?

You were all expecting Bethesda to release something bug free??
Jyndal  +   505d ago
Be ready.
I have a feeling this is only the tip of the iceberg as far as this update goes.
Typical-Guy  +   505d ago
I was planning on returning to this game after a year and a half.... And it's still broken with all the broken attempts of Bethesda Breakworks!
Aznreddneck81  +   505d ago
Why am I not surprised with this. I have lost all faith in Bethesda. I will never buy another one of their games ever.
Rask  +   505d ago
Wow, what a incompetent studio.

Even though I enjoy going back to skyrim every now and then, it's really sad to hear that they can't get it right after all this time! Hopefully they will do a better job on next gen, but that is wishfull thinking.

I'm glad I never bought this garbage.
Sam Fisher  +   505d ago
Its still a great experience with all its f-ups, but yeah... I think skyrim is their worst one.... Yet, hopefully ever

This is one of the rare instances I will completely agree with PC gamers and say don't bother playing Skyrim on consoles. If there are problems with this patch, the PC community have probably already fixed them far faster than Bethesda would have, and for free.

"This is one of the rare instances I will completely agree with PC gamers and say don't bother playing Skyrim on consoles"

I've been playing on 360 since day one and the only glitches ive seen were dragons flying backwards and one of my mates games froze in his house from the Hearthfire expansion. And I've been plying alot of this game.
DragonKnight  +   505d ago
The 360 version is actually the best version of the game, but it's still a console version and doesn't benefit from the fixes that the PC gaming community come out with far faster than Bethesda does.
Bathyj  +   505d ago
Played over 150 hours on PS3 and had one glitch that wouldnt let me finish a mission and then progress through the story.

Did a quick search online and found out it was a known issue on the PS3, Xbox and PC versions. Luckily there was a work around that let me get back to it. Other than that I had no problems with it.

In my opinion i believe bethesda has the right idea in mind, with huge maps and lots of quests, and there detailed story back ground. But they fall short with bugs and you wait and wait for the update and by the time a working update comes out, you are playing another game. I like bethesda but they dont make perfect games and it shows.
XXXL  +   505d ago
Only Bethesda. What a bunch of morons
MysticStrummer  +   504d ago
This can't be true. People on N4G say Skyrim on 360 is flawless. I refuse to believe otherwise.
RE_L_MAYER  +   504d ago
I was expecting bugs but damn....legendary)))) im glad I didnt do it because its kinda pointless to me anyway
RE_L_MAYER  +   504d ago
I used to do legendary skills but then I took an arrow in the knee
strigoi814  +   504d ago
can someone to take this developer to court..this kind of developer need to return its sales and get bankrupt..
dmcwilliams  +   504d ago
I have only done one legendary skill (one-handed) and there doesn't seem to be anything wrong on my end.
