Real Racing 3 is a brilliant game crippled by EA’s greed

The Real Racing series has delivered enjoyable titles to mobile devices, and Real Racing 3 could have continued that tradition. With licensed cars, real tracks, the ability to drive against real people in every race as the game pulls data from your runs to populate to the games of others… it’s filled with everything you want in a racing game. It feels good to play, features impressive graphics, especially on a later-generation iPad, and it’s even free-to-play!

Yeah, that last part is where the whole thing goes to s**t. (EA, iPad, iPhone, Mobile)

A user on reddit states that RR3 contains over $500 of in-app payments to get the full game. O.O

WOW that's ridiculous
zeal0us  +   539d ago
Well if you're android user you can always use GameCIH(root is required) to hack the in-game cash.
Yodagamer  +   538d ago
You can do it on ios as well, not sure what the app is, but i saw it on youtube. Then the guy lost his channel, probably due to ea lol

This is not true I have the game on my iPad I havnt spent a cent everything can be obtained by racing if you wish to shortcut sure you can pay to buy "gold" which will get you better vehicles but it is not needed!

People just jumping on the EA hate train

The "freemium" model needs to go back to hell if it is abused like this.

Good job EA! F**k you!! I see your dirty ways...

Has anyone here played it?
Bathyj  +   538d ago
I've played it. Its pretty good for a mobile racing game, but I only have one car cos I only get the in game cash you earn, not the ones you buy with real money.

It would be impossible to get even one of the top line cars without putting some serious, serious hours into it just by grinding. I'll do that in a Gran Turismo game, but not on my phone.

You even get car damage, and you can either queue it up to be fixed and then you have to stop playing for hours while it does repairs, or use the in game cash (which remember can be purchased) to fix immediately.

You can see why unsupervised kids can run up huge bills in the app store.

Granted, I've never played it, but toucharcade said the best way to play it is to not upgrade your first car. Save all the money you can until you can afford to buy a car in a different tier. That way, you can go back and forth racing, or at least the wait wall won't be as long.

You are wrong.
I have the mp4-12c and the Audi r8
I havnt spent a cent or even that much time. I'm only level 20
Yes some cars are unrealistic to obtain without spending a little coin but it is doable
Honestly

I've played it and if it were not for the in-game purchasing it would be the best mobile racer on any platform...until GT Vita comes out at least.
Hicken  +   538d ago
Will you still have a Vita by then?

Wait, doesn't it belong to your son?

Wait, didn't you say you'd never buy one for your kids?

Wait, didn't you say your kids weren't interested in the Vita?
StreetsofRage  +   538d ago
Hicken, are you taking notes on people here? Are you that sad? Do these strangers on here disturb you so much that you actually remember and think about them the rest of your day?

Seek help. You take this way to seriously.

I don't mind Hicken's comments as I added him to my ignore list a long time ago. Not read anything he's posted in a while now and guess what, I'm guessing I've not missed anything.

Never buying another product from EA again crew checking in.
delboy  +   538d ago
Real Racing 3 is free, go grab it.

@yoda it's a great game, just hack it for the in game cash.
You won't hurt the developers, EA paid them already for the game development.

This game alone is why i think ea deserves the worst company award. They took an amazing game from an amazing dev. bought them out and ruined the experience of the game. It's this kinda stuff that frustrates many gamers

TRUE.
Inception  +   538d ago
I've only bought four games from EA (Mirror Edge & Dead Space 1-3). Sorry EA, with crappy business like this, i will definitely give my money to other great dev such as Atlus, Level-5, NIS, or Namco rather than give it to you ^^
