Borderlands 2 - Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack Review - JPS

"Thanks to a perhaps poorly worded trophy/achievement, many people have been eagerly awaiting a level cap increase in Borderlands 2. Now that three of the four Season Pass DLC packs are out, Gearbox has finally released the level cap increase, plus an additional mode to go along with it. After months of warnings and claims that the DLC would break the game, is the level cap increase something you should get or does it break this already poorly balanced game?" - JPS (Borderlands 2, PC, PS3, Xbox 360) 1/10

While it's great GB finally released the levels, they really should be free. It sucks that me and my friend are now 61, where as my good friend is only 50. Now he either needs to pay the fee and level or we need to play through the game... in either case, they could have done this better.

Well they could have released the level cap increase for free, but that would be insane considering the time and effort spent in making the level cap increase.

No one releases a level cap increase for free, oh wait Bethesda just completely unlocked the level cap from Skyrim and added a new harder difficulty for free. Gee could it be that Gearbox is just selling pointless DLC?

In all seriousness, the lvl cap increase should have been free so everyone could have gotten it. They knew situations like yours would happen and that would force people to buy the new content. It's a pretty low thing to do, but Gearbox normally does crap like this. Only now people are waking up to the reality that Gearbox is ripping them off. That whole Aliens controversy really helped to open people eyes to the truth.

While you're probably right, I think claiming they're trying to do "right by their fans" makes this look so much worse. The sad thing is that this expansion would have prompted many people to reconsider the DLC packs, since that would give them time to achieve the max level.

while i don't like dlc that nickel an dime people, the game been out for a while an on sale many times. the season pass was recently $10 on pc, if you don't feel the game worth putting extra $20 or $10 if you find it on sale, for the extra content then stop playing call it a day an find a new game

Doctors Orders.

They're pretty rare and 100% not worth the hassle.
