TVGB writer Chris Wilcox has been looking forward to getting rid of his mouse, keyboard, gamepad, etc in lieu of "simpler", faster, more immersive devices. Here are a few options, and his opinions on their possibilities from a gamer's point of view.
quote "VGB writer Chris Wilcox has been looking forward to getting rid of his mouse, keyboard, gamepad, etc in lieu of “simpler”, faster, more immersive devices." thats all i had to read. faster than keyboard and mouse? seriously?
You might want to keep reading.
Even tho what they are talkin about is the First Gen of its kind , its a door way to alot of future interfaces , not limited to anything.
A good mouse is damned near the peak of speed and accuracy for a 2d plane..... not much point in switching. If we get an operating system and stuff that adds a third dimension to it now we're talking.
Someone needs to go back and re-evaluate his last paragraph after watching Ghost in the Shell.
Mouse and keyboard is best for FPS regardless of what console gamers say with their auto-aim. Analogue sticks are best for 3D action/adventure, platformers, sports and racing games. I'd never want to play ratchet and clank or GT5 on PC because tapping the keys down to turn a corner is retarded.
I don't believe the mouse will be replaced for awhile. Not until the format of things change. If everything on the PC were changed from 2D to 3D then at one point something else might be developed that would fit into it as a replacement.
Some sort of touch pad, perhaps?
a cat lol
