The PlayStation 3's Really Good 2013 Line-Up Is No Fluke

Kotaku - I don't know what the term is for what happens to a console in the year its successor console comes out. What is it, a lame duck session? That's not quite right, because a system like the PS2 winds up getting support well after the year the PS3 comes out. The PS2 simply isn't Sony's newest console anymore. So let's call the year these changes happen "displacement years." (PS3)

2013 is probably gonna be the best year in this whole generation, PS3 going out with a bang!

For me, not literally I hope. I know Gamestop usually has those trade in bonuses when a new console comes out, so I'll trade it in to them.

What does that have to do with anything?

The last of us in June!

I have soul sacrifice on my list which is coming soon, but I just bought a 3ds and I want to grab couple of games for that. Nintendo first party games rarely seem to come down in price imo.

I'm not buying another game until The Last of Us.

It's time to bring out the... backlog of doom!

Lego City just came out for Wii U as did Monster Hunter
Game And Wario, Wii Fit U, Wind Waker HD, balloon fight and Rayman should be worth picking up on Wii U this year despite Sega just announcing they cancelled Aliens for Wii U. Then there are the multiplats like Disney Infinity and such.

No idea about the 360 though, I am sure it has some I just don't really pay as much attention to the 360 release window. I tend to just pick up games for that as and when they appear :D

Edit - I get your point though, neither can hold a candle to Sony's like up across three consoles (PS3, 4 and Vita) but that doesn't in any way effect the quality of the few they DO have and that is what the WII U is to me, it's like a sidekick to my PlayStation.
