Defiance Review | OXM UK

OXM UK: "There aren't any games like Defiance available on Xbox, and that's to its credit. And the thing about games like Defiance is that they can change and evolve over time - like the beasts prowling the forests of this brand new earth. Still, Defiance has quite a few mutations to go before we can thoroughly recommend it." (Defiance, Xbox 360) 6/10

Shame, I quite liked the sound of "Halo meets Borderlands"...

I have been playing this game and I have really enjoyed it.

I'm not disregarding the author's opinion, I just wanted to share mine with you.

I've been playing(mostly) solo and having a blast. That's the best compliment I can give to an mmo.

I wouldn't say that simply a mix of halo and borderlands, as halo is a first person shooter and this is a third(though this game has some pretty far out weaponry).
And borderlands isn't really open world, but a series of large hubs. Whereas Defiance is completely open world.

I like that you recieve *your mount(an atv of sorts) very soon after starting, also.

Riding around on that quad and jumping random hills and rocks actually reminded of the fun that I used to have playing Bad Company 2.

I love games that allow you to make your own character, so that it a huge plus.

If you have a friend that you play games with(headset recommended) I would suggest purchasing it with a friend as a co-op game.

Sorry for giving you a novel to read, I just enjoy this game enough that I feel that you deserve to hear something positive, as well as understanding criticisms.

If what you thought about the game sounded appealing, just go for it man.

If you have a friend to play with then it's an experience you really shouldn't miss.

It's an mmo and with that comes hundreds of people playing in your world at a time.

A random event happens, showing up on the map... Turns out something crash landed on earth, insect like aliens.

You set the location on your map as your destination and you're off!

Your rolling over hills on your beginning vehicle. As you close in you see other players in their respective vehicles racing towards it.

Upon arriving you notice fifty other players engaging this invasion of sorts in real time.

You jump into the fight....

That's my experience so far. Very different from some of the reviews. I'm not correct, and neither are they.

Again I just felt that you deserved a different opinion than the one here so that you can make your own educated decision.

There's always room for one more.

Take care.
