IGN - Guacamelee flexes its muscles and proves the strength and everlasting effect of the Metroidvania formula.
Sony, acquire Drinkbox and further your strength in the coming next gen! I will buy this game later!
yeah, I'm getting this when it's up on the store.
hope its out in the UK this week too, I loved Mutant blobs, can't wait to get my hands on this!
@FriedGoat It is, on wednesday. We will have our review up tomorrow, IGN have exclusivity on the review.
This is a Vita title too which is excellent so I'm getting it once it hits the store. I love the Metroidvania style game play. I also have to say 8 solid hours isn't bad at all for a downloadable game like this. I also recommend Outland to anyone who loves this style of game play. Sony is rocking so hard and so strong this year. Ending and starting generations with a big bang!
they have them allready but not as EX
Why would Drinkbox want that? They can make more money by releasing their games also on PC. I own Mutant Blobs Attack on Steam and I will buy this when it hits Steam. If they stay indie more people can enjoy their games.
Pub fund by sony :) No chance for coming on steam!
Its on the Steam registry, And when a game is published by MS or Sony it still can come to PC.
@ Sanquine90 Sony's pub fund basically trades financial support for a window of exclusivity for PSN. It doesn't necessarily ensure permanent exclusivity. That is why Mutant Blobs Attack, Papo & Yo and others are either already on Steam or are coming to the service. It's nice to have them first on PSN, but others deserve to play these gems.
Getting this tomorrow! 48 Trophies and a platinum in this as well!
score seems a bit high...especially with ign getting first review.
Yet another great game for PS Vita.
cool games.. great appearance.. unique graphic.. animated excellent.. great story... really awesome game for PS3 and Vita..
and its cross buy too! gotta love Sony :)
this game is exclusive to ps3/vita right? i hope there is a retail for this game. anyway its like a igavania game, i think. so ill definitely give this game a try
it will be only available on psn.
No retail! Just downloadable. Furthermore, it is an exclusive to ps3/vita, because it was on the pub fund program of sony. Sony gives them money to fund the project and sony gets a exclusive game on it's platform:D
sony is really a cool company to work with eh ^_^
Doesnt matter if its short, Im going to replay this game a number of times. The gorgeous animation and art, explorable open world type gameplay and fun combat plus cross buy makes the game well worth the purchase. Cannot wait :D
buying it.. I love metroidvania games.. Seems like games are getting shorter & shorter these days.. I know some games that are too long get dull after a while but a good 20-40 hrs is great in my book.. A game like this should be at least 15
Uh... this review, as well as several other sites, are stating it's extremely short-- you can plow through it in a single day, with 5-8 hour playtimes recorded.
erm thats pretty long for such a low price
I didn't say it wasn't, did I? He just stated that "20-40" hours is good for him, and even 15 hours from this game would be satisfactory. Merely reading the review would have informed him about his pending disappointment, and IGN isn't alone in declaring the game's brevity. It's a great little game (from what I've played), and it's well worth the money, I'm sure. People need to realize that Metroidvania does not equal an extremely long game.
i said "a game like this should be at least 15" or you didnt read all of it.. Im still buying the game because it looks fun.. Im just saying that ALL games these days are getting shorter & shorter... I would like em to be a bit longer is all
This is what Mirror of Fate should have been. Been so long since a very good 'Metroidvania' game so hearing this is really great is a welcome sight.
It only does great games!
I LOVE all the parody posters in the background. My favorite's the Destructoid vs Giant Bomb one
My Vita(and PS3 but I mostly want this for my Vita) are ready!
please take my money and give me that game already.
Good review. Im glad it refrained itself from using obnoxious food references like: The combat is Taco-Tacular! The voice acting is smooth as salsa! Your luchador moves quick as a quesadilla! Etc.
