UK Charts – BioShock Infinite on Top for Second Week

GodisaGeek: "With Defiance being the only new release last week, it was fairly likely this would happen, but regardless, it’s great to see one of the best games of the year so far staying atop the UK video game charts: BioShock Infinite is still number one."

God of War already out of the top 20?
Tomb Raider is kicking ass and taking names!
Edit: @Jamal, I'm sure there will be a couple of disagrees for Judgement, but the bulk will come from the other side. Those folks just can't take any criticism towards their precious exclusives.
Watch that Ezz fella come in here in tears to set you straight!

Good_Guy_Jamal4034d ago

Yup. I wonder if I'll be given as much grief for noting that Tomb Raider is selling more on 360 than Gears as I was when the same was true regarding Tomb Raider on PS3 and GoW.
Although maybe I should wait for the individual charts to see if this is true.
I'd say its pretty clear however that these 2 prequels were largely unnecessary.

GodisaGeek4034d ago

Xbox chart:
1 BIOSHOCK INFINITE
2 DEFIANCE
3 TOMB RAIDER
4 FIFA 13
5 GEARS OF WAR: JUDGMENT

PS3 Chart:
1 Tomb Raider
2 BioShock Infinite
3 FIFA 13
4 Assassin's Creed 3
5 Defiance

(God of War is 7th).

Good_Guy_Jamal4034d ago (Edited 4034d ago )

Thanx for the info bro. Bubble up for helpful.

Edit: Why the caps for the 360 games? It's cos they are better isn't it? - jokes people, lighten up. Also, Hi Ezz, hehehe

Ezz20134034d ago (Edited 4034d ago )

What I find interesting is that Lego City is not in there. I thought this game would sell quite well. I thought it would be in the top 20 for a few weeks.

r214034d ago

According to vgchartz, consider it how you will, so far its sold 0.09million. I have no idea whether its selling well or horrid but honestly, a new ip like this should at least sell half a million IMO. Such a fun title.

AZWification24034d ago

Bad example. The sales for the second week in USA, Canada and the first week for Europe don't show up. The game easily has around 125k-140k now. Also, why 500k? ZombiU got a lot of attention yet it only sold 400k.

GodisaGeek4034d ago

Especially when other LEGO games are still in there.

mcstorm4034d ago

I agree. Lego City imo is one of the best lego games I have played well I say I have played more like ive seen my other half play. She is not a gamer when when I got lego city she asked if she could have ago last weekend and spend 15 hours playing it over the weekend.

I hope it gets up to a million as this is one of the best games so far this year. But saying that I have yet to see anything on TV here in the UK advising the game and its been the same for Gears to. GoW got a lot of TV time here though and so is Tomb Raider
and BioShock Infinite so seeing them at the top is properly about right as the WiiU sales are still low over here in the UK.

AZWification24034d ago

Don't worry. After 3D Mario, Mario Kart, Pikmin 3, etc... will be released on the Wii U, people will feel more comfortable with buying titles such as Lego City Undercover and ZombiU. A lot of Ninty fans are not sold on Wii U, but after all the big series come out, they may even consider some of the older titles. I am sure until 2017 Lego City Undercover can reach 1 million.

lovegames7184034d ago

Pikmin isnt a big selling series though, never has been i dont know where ppl get this idea from. On wii it sold horribly even for a redone version of the old one and on gamecube it sold maybe a million.

AZWification24034d ago

Pikmin 3 is getting more marketing and media attention than Pikmin 1 and 2 combined. It can easily reach 2, maybe even 3 million copies if Nintendo tries hard.

"And lastly, famous Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling helped to create the action-RPG’s setting. What’s really fascinating, though, is that the game was partially financed by taxpayers from Rhode Island (which allegedly lost the state millions of dollars). Yikes!"

1. Now infamous Schilling
2. No allegedly, it did. And they couldn't pay it back.
3. What really lost the money wasn't the SP release but the MMO they were working on. This was supposed to be an introduction into the MMO world.

Soy272d ago

I hate counting limited editions for these lists. I mean, they're made to be rare and expensive. It's far more interesting to hear about the NCAAs (even if most people know that one already) and the El Chavos than some massive hit that came with a $200 statue at retail.

gamerz272d ago

Me too. Here's the best I can do:

El Chavo Kart $90.14
NCAA Football 14 $87.72
Spiderman: Edge of Time $75.94
Spiderman Web of Shadows $75.09
Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions $67.76

Christopher271d ago

Wow, El Chavo Kart is not at all what I expected by the name. 100% looks like a Sackboy Kart game.

Soy271d ago

It's so odd that so many Spider-Man games are seemingly given lower print runs, even if they're not the best games.

jznrpg272d ago (Edited 272d ago )

Most Xbox games don’t hold as much value compared to other systems. Kameo, Blue Dragon, Last Remnant , and a handful or 2 of other games that I kept.

Fallout 3 and Bioshock Infinite are the rarest games of all time.

8 Best Games Set In A Multiverse

One of the biggest TV and movie tropes in the last decade has been the multiverse, the idea of exploring multiple dimensions to uncover alternate versions of existing ideas. From both a business and creative perspective, it makes sense why established franchises are shaking things up in this way.

However, there aren't many video games latching on to this trend, as rendering multiple worlds in real-time is a difficult feat and the medium is relatively young in comparison to its contemporaries, making crossover opportunities more difficult. Still, there are a few great titles that manage enough to overcome these challenges, and here are some of the best examples.

While I love someone mentioning Planescape, not really multiverse. Planes and dimensions, yes. But, they are typically their own locations and are very rarely tied to another 'verse' let alone another plane. The only things that are directly tied are the ethereal and material planes. Otherwise, they are dimensions created of their own design and goals by the creator/owner and not comprised of 'their own version of another dimension'.
