What’s Next for Call of Duty?

OXCGN:

"Back in 2011, just after Modern Warfare 3 had been released, I took a crack at what I thought would be the next Call of Duty game.

Well, it’s about that time of year again since they seem to do their announcements around April or May, so I thought I would give it another shot.

I came close last time (granted, I used the scatter gun approach by guessing several different options) but it might be a little trickier this time because the Modern Warfare franchise has come to an end (or has it?).

So, what are the options?"

I *almost* wish we'd go back to WW2.

lnvisibleMan1205d ago

Love if they took a shot at WW1.

I'd love to go somewhere we've not been before.

Total fiction. City in the sky Bioshock type different.

Also, IW has a new engine for their next game everyone will be pleased to hear.

Almost? In my opinion, the modern and future settings have been milked more than the ww2 setting. I personally would love to see a world at war 2. That was my favorite COD. And does anybody remember Medal of Honor: Airborne? My God, that game was terribly underrated.

I wish with all my heart to go back to WW2 with the new graphics . Just imagine a game similar to World at War with new graphics?! i think even now that World at War was the heart of Call of Duty franchise and there are many people in the game society that they wish the same thing as me.

No not like world at war that was still like the cluster fuck multiplayer cod has now. More like cod 1 & 2 heck even 3.

A new lick of paint (new engine for next gen) which makes it look new and differnt but really, deep down it's the same old crap we've seen since 2007.

BlackCarrot1204d ago

How different can a twitch shooter get? It's always the same old crap and I say that with love.

I actually enjoyed Back Ops 2....the first one I did enjoy in years.

I agree. I got it for the WiiU and really enjoy it. I have not played COD since MW but I like whats been done with BO2. I not think its still as good as Halo 4 but I am finding BO2 a very fun game.

MW4.. This time, all the dead will be resurrected.

BlackCarrot1204d ago

I still think COD is a fun game, its gunplay is the tightest in gaming. MW2 was brilliant fun because it was so unbalanced and crazy but obviously that stupidity didn't appeal to everyone. They tried to fix it in the newer CODs but I think it got boring as a result. It feels like COD is stuck in an identity crisis with no incentive to do anything about it.

I digress, what I want from COD is the same feeling I got when I put in my COD4 disk for the first time, or when I was trying to figure out what to do with a care package in the first week of MW2. Like others have said, it just doesn't feel fresh any more.
