6 Future Improvements I want to see in the Wii U

mii-gamer writes:

Video game consoles are like fine Wines – the more they mature the better they get. Just think about it. The deeper into a consoles life cycle – the games look better, the game plays betters and the console generally performs better. Just like last gen, the PS3 and 360 have improved so much from their infant self, it almost seems they are completely different consoles. Right?

The Wii U is no different. When the Wii U starts to hit its golden age – we will see amazing looking games, the console will deliver amazing experience and hopefully the community will finally recognize its potential. As it stands now, the Wii U has room for improvement; actually plenty room for improvement. The beauty of the situation is that Nintendo has time to implement improvement to the Wii U. Here are 6 future improvements I want to see in the Wii U. (Nintendo, Wii U)

Completely 100% agree with #1... wii u needs trophy / acheivement system, and if you don't like them, ignore them....

It's the one thing about the wii u that will always keep me from buying multiplats on the system... I'd rather have them on my 360 or ps3, just because i have the option of earning them, even though i don't plan on platinum'ing every game...

Also, it would give us something to talk about in miiverse; 'how do you get this trophy?' or 'This is how i got this extremely hard to get trophy'....

also, an open statement to Nintendo:

You want to appeal to the core gamer, then give us a trophy system!

"You want to appeal to the core gamer, then give us a trophy system!"

Developers are free to do so.
Nintendo just won't force it on them.

Im sure the Mii system is being improved. Best thing Nintendo can do is allow developers to interface whatever system they have with the Mii system.

Me too... I'd also like to see wide screen for Virtual Console titles, and Wii games added to the eShop, and playable from the Wii U interface.

They announced one a while back. Not sure what's happened to it though.

It was going to work for both the 3ds and wiiU and be called acomplishments.

Achievements: That's a useless feature that no console needs, ever needed, or ever will need.
Better Pro Controller: That wouldn't improve my experience because I don't use the thing.
Better Battery: Now THAT needs to be done.
Miiverse app for websites: I'm confused.

Achievements/trophies give the player the extra motivation to complete difficult challenges that they usually wouldn't if it weren't for the achievements. It expands the play-time of each game and It gives the player a sense if accomplishment even if it's just a digital trophy that doesn't do anything. Just because YOU think it's useless, doesn't mean others do.
kirbyu  +   378d ago
I know. I just don't see how it would get people to buy the console, also, how bout if Nintendo does it we actually get a prize of some sort with each accomplishment, or some amount of them, like every 100.

It not needed if Miiverse allows you to share info real-time while playing games.

You can give tips and such.

Share your post about you beating a game and put spoilers on your post.

Achievements: It's an option that can increase the replay value for a game to make it last longer.
Better Pro controller: Just because it wouldn't improve your experience doesn't mean it wouldn't improve somebody else's. Nintendo needs to make as many people happy as possible.
Miiverse app for websites: you know when you go to articles and you see a "share" button for facebook and twitter, yeah he wants to share stuff like that on miiverse

Achievments: Look at what I said to Rusty515
Better Pro Controller: I know. I'm just saying it would be pointless to me.
Miiverse: Thanks for clearing that up.

well the achievements really aren't meant to sale units, but instead are meant to improve the experience for the people who like to "achieve" certain tasks and get rewarded (even if it's just a digital "good job"). Basically it's meant to give people satisfaction for doing certain things.

Achievements give more value for a game ;)
BosSSyndrome  +   378d ago
I don't really see how they expect to improve the battery life. Nyko has pretty much already done all one can do.
Dj7FairyTail  +   378d ago
Uh no for Trophy and Achievements. We don't need that.
We can just share our gaming experiences through Miiverse.
Moncole  +   378d ago
What if they made a Fairy Tail game for the Wii U, would you want achievements?
MultiConsoleGamer  +   378d ago
All I want is more games and more titles with off screen gameplay.

A reason for the gamepad.
