Mainstream Media Mayhem: Video Games & Girls

I (Justin Pla) ask the question, how far out of touch can the mainstream media get with the gaming community until its too far. By being so unaware of the culture they project negative perspectives towards their audience. Even more damaging is the perspective of the female gamer to the mass. Why is she not taken seriously. Does this hurt the industry? I ask how far is too far?

This article is foolish. It takes a situation where one local tv station runs a story on basically 'omg girls are gamers too' and extrapolates it to the entire world and gaming industry. I wouldn't even bother reading it if I were you, it's crap.

You can tell it's going to suck just by how many grammatical errors are in the intro blurb. Noble Press needs to go back to Noble High School and learn how to end questions with a question mark and the difference between "its" and "it's" among other things. Jeez.

Hey it gots you to comments on the piece, didn't its.

Yeah you sure showed me.
Write a terrible article, then be proud of the fact that it was so bad, it made people marvel out loud at its lack of quality.

Um, congratulations?

If you watch the video its over 10 stations.. But yeah I guess its crap cause you didn't fully pay attention..

IcicleTrepan1204d ago (Edited 1204d ago )

well, I guess since 10 whole stations repeated the same bs story that I have to believe the story is absolutely true then, fully fact-checked and 100% legitimate. And of course you will defend this article, you wrote it.

These girl and gay gamer articles need to go die in a ditch. Media reporting girls playing games does no damage to anything. All it means is the media had a slow day of news, so they just threw some crap out. Normal people can care less who the hell plays games and who doesnt. Most people who play games are males. Prolly 95 percent even. Do you know what that means? Nothing! So stfu with this articles.

Sure there are girls working in coal mines too:

"Even more damaging is the perspective of the female miners to the mass. Why is she not taken seriously. Does this hurt the industry? I ask how far is too far?"
