Bioshock Infinite review | Gaming Capacity

To fully understand and appreciate Irrational Games’ Bioshock Infinite it helps to have a basic understanding of alternate realities. The theory that at any point in time there are an infinite amount of parallel realities that can seem exactly the same or completely different. In one world you could be the opposite sex, you might never have been born, you might have children or have none. There are even possibilities that the dinosaurs never died out and human beings never existed. Even a choice as simple as what you had for breakfast 10 years ago could alter a path that leads to a world war. Okay, maybe not that drastic, but it is still a possibility. Bioshock Infinite takes that theory and turns it into a living world. (BioShock: Infinite, PC, PS3, Xbox 360) 10/10

Good game, but not a ten.

8.8 /10.

Id agree that its not a ten only because i believe they took a step back in terms of plasmid powers and the almost pointless armor perk system. Id give it a straight 9.

Wait, by 'armor perk system', do you mean the gears?
Cause IMO they weren't pointless, the gears really helped in tight situations where i was outnumbered and on the brink of death. Hell, they're extremely useful for 1999 mode.

Eight is a good score. I cannot believe how people fawn over the story in this game... as someone who (occupational reference removed), this plot stood out as a very disjointed, circular narrative.

You can tell when a writer refused to let go of an idea or character and tried to make it fit into a revised story, this is what this game feels like, the parts do not connect to eachother easily, there are too many themes and styles competing with eachother -

religion, heaven/hell dichotomy with the vox devil costumes, schizophrenic social commentary(racism! immigrintz!), tacked on 'gotta save da big apple' nonsense, tacked on big daddy bird which apparently served only to bump up trailers and transition scenes which could not logically progress (here let me toss you into this next jumbled paragraph of a scene) ,trendy quantum nonsense, steampunk nonsense, pointless inception wannabe ending, a floating city that serves as a metaphor.. for.. what?... why even bother making it a floating city when it could have been set on the moon or Jersey City for all it impacted the story?

its obvious they changed their minds about the plot several times but where left with game assets that no longer related to the new whole.

Dude I've been screaming at the top of my lungs that this game is overrated cause what people seams to think make it a extraordinary (10/10 scores) is actually pretty average IMO.

As a fps it didn't really add or exceed in any way, and the story although better than most fps's its convoluted to the point that a bunch of people are trying to explain it or understand it. So +bub for intelligent.
