Why Adam Orth is an idiot [The Spook House]

New Xbox requires Internet Connection? See the tweets from Creative Director of Microsoft!

Numerous sources have reported that the eighth generation Xbox device from Microsoft will require an Internet connection to work. In lieu of the disastrous SimCity launch and the fact that people simply do not want to be connected to the Internet 100% of the time to play their games, this obviously has people worried and Xbox fans are worked up.

Microsoft, Adam Orth is a idiot! #justdealwithit

Yi-Long1121d ago

... is pretty insulting to idiots!

The guy is a clueless jackass.

darthv721121d ago

Adam-Orthed

deal with it!

dedicatedtogamers1121d ago (Edited 1121d ago )

This could be a troll, a bizarre troll, but a troll nonetheless. Microsoft may later show off the NextBox and say "NextBox can be enjoyed either online or offline, but if you're online, I'd like to talk to you about all the new additions to XBL..." etc etc.

And in the end, Microsoft ends up looking like a hero, even if "always online" was never true to begin with. It may sound crazy, but it would give MS a lot of free, positive press and it would swing the pendulum back their way.

silverbeld1121d ago

@dedicatetogamers

Keep on dreaming.

If this the roadmap from Microsoft it will be very sad for all gamers.

Btw you should change your nickname cause its an insult to gamers.

Pushagree1121d ago

Microsoft as a whole is an idiot. It's very clear the way the way every staff has defended the always on feature that you will have to have your internet on all the time just to play games on the nextbox.

Always on is CONFIRMED.

SilentNegotiator1121d ago

Confirmed? That's a bit much.

But it doesn't bode well for what the reality will likely be.

Gamer-Z1121d ago (Edited 1121d ago )

Thanks Adam Orth, I am now buying a PS4 instead the next Xbox.

#dealwithit

Jek_Porkins1121d ago

If you are swayed by one persons opinion and no facts, I highly doubt you were going to buy the next Xbox anyway.

Nobody in their right mind decides something based on rumor and speculation.

Rusty5151121d ago

He said he's buying a PS4.
#dealwithit

BlackTar1871121d ago

Jek please explain to me why you hate the ps4 so much? In another topic you said if it is always on ill just get a wii u for next gen. What could ps brand have done to you that made you hate them so much?

darthv721121d ago

oo oo I'll answer that.

I have a dislike for the PS brand because it is what killed Sega.

Actually i dont but for a while there....I did hold a grudge against them. But i'm a gaming whore and when good games come along i just have to spread my legs and accept it.

lol

Rusty5151121d ago

@darthv72 sega killed sega. Playstation just came in at the worst possible time for them.

darthv721121d ago

yeah i know. they tried to cover too many bases at the same time. in fact, they are the only company to have 6 platforms on the market AT THE SAME TIME.

Sony was starting to look like they were heading in the same direction with having 5 but thankfully, they got wise and scaled things back down to 3.

Oh and for the record...SEGA: Genesis, Cd, 32x, Saturn, Mastersystem, Gamegear were all on the market and being supported by sega in various ways until they scaled things WAY back and just went with the DC until the plug was officially pulled.

Sony was doing PS2, PSP, PS3, and took on PS Mobile AND Vita. With the retirement of the PS2 and phase out of the PSP in favor of the Vita that leaves them with the PS3 (soon PS4) the vita and their PS Mobile platforms.

Talk about be all you can be.

_FantasmA_1121d ago

He must be an angry Nintendo and M$ lover. Sony killed both of them last gen so he hates them. I'm glad I don't have to play with on PSN though so he can stay on those losing teams if he wants.

Buy what you want, that's your right and I hope you enjoy whatever you get. Yet, I still have not seen any of his tweets indicating that it's a mandatory feature to play any video games. I feel like this "always on, always connected" nonsense means the system, when "turned off" will go on a low power mode and the always connected would be for instant updates of hardware/software on the HD. I bet the next box will be havily favored towards an always on connection with better features and what not, but I still don't see them not allowing someone with no internet to not play a single player game. We have also seen NOTHING from his tweets or any BS rumor article stating that. For now, we can only wait and see.

jut4201121d ago

Adam Orth, you will be fired #dealwithit

Pushagree1121d ago

He won't be fired for saying what his bosses tell him to say. He is pretty much advertising what is already a feature that they put in the Nextbox. He wouldn't be defending it if it weren't a part of the system.

jut4201121d ago

yea i don't really think he will be fired but i also don't think he was supposed to say anything just yet

LOGICWINS1121d ago

For all you know this was planned by Microsoft all along to gauge the reactions of consumers to an always on console.

jut4201121d ago

I'm sure it wasn't planned by MS to insult people who don't have internet

LOGICWINS1121d ago (Edited 1121d ago )

Ummm...thats EXACTLY what they want to do. They WANT to make people without Internet access feel inferior in order to influence them to get one and sign up for Gold memberships. More Gold memberships, more money for Microsoft.

Sony's doing the same thing with Gaikai and PS Plus.

Also, let me use your own argument against you. If such a LARGE 360 fanbase doesn't have Internet access, what are the chances they will know that any of this ever occurred? You underestimate how poorly informed most gaming console consumers are...even the ones that do have Internet access.

I can guarantee you that 90% (or more) of the people who buy a 720 in the fall will never know that these "insults" ever occurred.

Ilovetheps41121d ago

Did you just say that they intentionally insulted their customers? What kind of strategy is that? I don't buy products if they treat their customers like trash. If I'm giving you my money, you should treat me well.

LOGICWINS1121d ago (Edited 1121d ago )

Think! The more insulting/unprofessional Orth looks the less connection there is to Microsoft. The POINT of this is to make it SEEM like Orth's opinions are his own, when in fact, this may be untrue.

The more ignorant/immature an employee looks, the easier it is to make it SEEM like he has no ties to the company he works for.

While people here are calling Orth an idiot, he likely just got his Spring bonus.

Do you REALLY believe that a Creative Director for one of the most popular companies on the planet would be dumb enough to do something like this at a time thats most crucial for Microsoft?

It was planned. But of course, this is N4G where negative Microsoft news praised. No matter what REALLY happened behind the scenes, people here will naturally assume the worse possible conclusion.

"If I'm giving you my money, you should treat me well"

Your not looking at the bigger picture. Most consumers don't KNOW that they are being treated like trash. Nintendo barely churned out any worthwhile software for the Wii yet it smoked both the PS3/360 in sales. The 360 charges consumers to play online and its on track to sell 80 million units.

As I said above, you underestimate the ignorance of the modern consumer.

The majority of gamers will never know that Orth's exchange occurred.

Heisenburger1121d ago

You are really reaching there 'Logic'.

Whatever man. Be like everyone else and spread rumors based on conjecture.

You know what they say when you ASSUME.

Well he's about to be an idiot looking for a job. The sad fact is that in the day and age of social media you have to be careful about what you say.

I mean if I say something it doesn't reflect what my company thinks, but it might get back to them that I feel that way and they might not like it. Best just to keep quiet about things.
