Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (Wii U) Review l Entertainment Fuse

If you ever lived in Japan, chances are that you heard of a little series called Monster Hunter by Capcom. It is Japan’s #1 game on the PSP and other gaming devices because of the multiplayer aspect on the go. Another reason it is way popular is the addiction of gathering thousands of pieces of loot, overcoming the odds against large monsters whether if you are alone or with a maximum of three other players, and customizing your character with armor and weapon sets. The major reason Monster Hunter never caught on at the states is the difference in systems being played. The Japanese gaming scene is more driven by the handhelds compared to consoles, while it is the other way around here at the states. In addition, console iterations haven’t gotten what makes Monster Hunter the series it is in Japan until now. Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is the best iteration of the series and it couldn't be a better time to see why Japan loves it too much.

My friend and I got this game about a week ago. It's a ton of fun so far. It's my first Monster Hunter game and I just find the battles very fun and rewarding. Playing with someone else makes the game even more fun.

It's a great series and the most enticing thing on the Wii U right now for me. Looking forward to MH4. FINALLY a handheld monster hunter with online!

I've just reached the high-ranking quests and it feels like the game is just beginning. So much left to do!

thezeldadoth4032d ago

who disagreed with this lol. probably some fat ass sony fanboy. its getting really weird now the level of worship. he disagreed with you that you just reached the high-ranking quests? come on.

saint_seya4032d ago

Im a sony fan, i readed his comment and never though on disagreen with him, i readed about mh3u cuz though seems interesting, yet i have to read your comment attacking sony fans for no reason..
You are worse than those fans you are calling about.

On topic: this game looks good, i only tried one mh on psp but it would be nice to see this one.

thezeldadoth4032d ago (Edited 4032d ago )

i own a ps3 and love many sony games. This site is just pure sony troll though. It used to be 360 trolls, now its sony trolls. Its just the truth. When i say sony fanboy, i mean N4G sony fanboy.

Try Monster Hunter Freedom Unite (PSP/VITA) it's the best in the series IMO, minus the crazy hit boxes on monsters which was fixed in Tri.

@disagrees

In MHTri and forward most monsters were very similar in there attack patterns except for 1 or 2 moves. Most just bite/charge forward then step back or side slam and step back or whatever signature move and step back not to mention that they got rid of the ape monsters which were a lot of fun to fight and had nice weapons and armor. The water combat was terrible, worst idea ever. The armor mix-match system was severely hampered (which apart from weapons is one of the most important aspects of the game) in favor of using complete sets of the same armor and complement it with the stupid charms.

All in all like i said IMO MHFU is the best one in the series so far, but you can believe what you want.

If they're not important enough to be held on their own official storefront then they're not important enough to give your money to Nintendo.

Buy these, physically, used or simply emulate them.

This article comes off as nothing more than advertising games that Nintendo, themselves, don't care to offer you... buy now!

Wait hang on where all the outrage? I swear when Sony tried to do this with PS3 last year. There was outrage from all corners of the gaming universe.

Why does no one care Nintendo is doing it?

MadLad785d ago (Edited 785d ago )

There has been.
A lot of it.

Simply type in "3DS" in Google and tell me what you see.

ocelot07784d ago

Oh I have a fair few websites reporting on it. But where is the outcry on here? I remember their was 2-3 approved top voted articles when Sony announced they where closing the PS3 store. All slating them and not caring about customers.

I should of worded it better. Where is all the outrage on n4g?

MadLad784d ago (Edited 784d ago )

N4G is a fanboy site, mainly frequented by only Sony.
Microsoft is their direct competition, so you'll typically only see articles that are made to rile up those fanbases.

Nintendo does it's own thing, so they're rarely brought up, aside from their fans. The most you get is the same typical two or three posters claiming Nintendo is only for infants.

If you come to N4G for educated discourse and reasonable discussion, this isn't the place. Sad as it is.

It's lame that it is shutting down. Now I feel rushed buying all the rpgs I missed out on the system.

You guys know that even archive.org has 3DS roms, and all other console roms. I'm downloading 846GB of 3DS roms and will add the best games to my soon to be soft modded New 3DS 😁. Might as well throw in DS and other emulators in there to. Guys this would be the best way to play and enjoy the 3DS. Just need to buy a bigger micro SD card and format it to FAT32, which you can if it's even 256GB or larger there are ways.

XxINFERNUSxX784d ago

This should help if you want to soft mod it excellent guide and up to the latest and probably last 3DS firmware update: https://www.youtube.com/wat...

The Best Monster Hunter Games - Every Western Monster Hunter Game Ranked

What's the best Monster Hunter of all time? In a series where half of the titles have the word 'Ultimate' fixed on the end, it can be a difficult decision to make. NL are not averse to difficult decisions though, so have taken it upon theirselves to rank every single Monster Hunter game (yes, even the non-Nintendo ones) to determine which is the very best.
