Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon Looks Different and that’s not a Good Thing

The first ever new screenshots for the upcoming Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon have been leaked. If you have seen any of these screenshots you are probably asking yourself the same thing we are; ‘Ubisoft, what the heck is going on here?’ The company has remained pretty mum about the upcoming game and now with these leaked screenshots we are in need of some sort of explanation. (Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, PS3, Xbox 360)

I was so looking forward to this game until now and I'm not a big downloadable game player. This looks horrible. Why couldn’t they have done something cool like making a prequel where you were controlling Vaas and his men or something like that? :/

Is it just me or does this look really bad?

People beg for a dinosaur related DLC/expansion for months on official forums and this is what we get...

an 80's techno style DLC.

Ubisoft really is in touch with their fanbase.

this is not a agree or disagree thing i just stop to see what was the problem

i dont care for far cry but i even have to admit dam! what are they doing i can't call it is it a bad joke

I understand where he's coming from. If this DLC turns out to be bad, Ubisoft will never hear the end of it. But if it's good, is it still FarCry?

I'm really excited for this. It came so far out from left field, and I can see how that could be off putting to some, but I'm definitely intrigued by this. It's a risk, but this is the kind of risks game companies should be taking. They aren't playing it safe by just giving us more of the same, even though the base far cry 3 game was amazing. But to that point, trust the devs, I bet this is going to be the retro tron-esque FPS that nobody even knew they wanted, but will want it nonetheless.

I agree.
Can't believe people are complaining. This looks really cool. Use the mechanics, gameplay and engine from FC3 and go in a totally different direction.
Retro sci-fi shooters are not common, so i'm really looking forward to this.

I totally agree too, I was starting to think I was the only one who thinks this looks awesome!

I'll reinstall FC3 to my hard drive just to play this! Looks really cool!

I am so confused as to how so many opinions have been formed without any input.

Calm down. At least wait until you see/read something that has some details.

Wait? So, this wasn't an April Fools joke?

Read this, and the title pretty much summarizes this simple opinion, thats its bad that its not more of the same. God forbid DLC be something more than a tacked on story or map packs. I just found out about blood dragon and it seems amazing to me, a modern take on 80's style scifi. The color palettes and weapon designs look wonderful.

thats what i don't get...

"Making something that looks so different from what made you popular is never a good idea and is seems as if Ubisoft might be taking that turn here with Far Cry 3: Blood "

Far cry looked like all the other boring shooters and all the other open world games, it's the gameplay and story that pushed far cry heads above the rest.

if this game looks soo different but has the same style of gameplay which it kind of does, who is to say it cannot be a success.

Gamers are constantly banging on about how generic everything has got and how boring everything is getting then the devs tying and do something a bit different and a bit of fun and then people want to complain it's not the same... (smack's head on wall)

That logo is awesome. Very 80's. Like a John Carpenter film or something. Screens look impressive. I like how no one could have predicted this.

This is confusing...

I like the idea of having DLC being a crazy off-shoot from the main story.
Devs should be making COMPLETE games with no loose ends, and then if that main game is successful they can add fun DLCs that are experimental/silly/re-imagined .
Games are pricey enough as it is, there should NEVER be a case where the story isn't finished and later sold as almost mandatory DLC at the tune of $15-$20.
