999 and Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward Interview: Aksys gets things done

From the article, "I’m tempted to call 999 and Zero Escape cult classics, but I think they’ve managed to get enough mainstream attention to receive the honor of just being called “classics.” They’re the kind of games any 3DS and Vita owner should be playing. From one’s first moments playing, they’re pulled into an engaging story. It’s a novel experience and I think it’s because of the efforts of Aksys Editor and Translator Ben Bateman and Nobara Nakayama that both games work so well. GamerTell was able to send some questions their way, and the two volleyed back a response. I hope it’s enlightening!" (3DS, 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors, Nintendo DS, PS Vita, Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward)

I spent 40 hours+ to get all the ending. The story really mindfuck me!

Btw, chunsoft already announced the third game

The story between (after) 999 and (before) virtue last reward. I hope Phi will showed up again. They need to explain more about her.

Hehehe I'm actually so proud of myself because I fully 100% understand the story. I'm so ready for the final game!

Phi will definitely be in the next game. After young Sigma's consciousness lives those 45 years and is sent back to just before the Nevada incident as soon as the AB game starts again, Phi's consciousness (who played the AB game and did all the jumping with Sigma) also goes back with him. They're both going to head to the Nevada site to stop the Radical-6 outbreak armed with more knowledge than previous versions of their selves had. But yeah, there's a lot we don't know about Phi. For instance, she's described as an "x-factor" at one point, and according to the guy who wrote the game (Kotaro Uchikoshi) her name is significant. (Phi being a letter of the greek alphabet) I suspect it has something to do with the mathematical Golden Ratio but I could be wrong.

In the Nevada test site, they'll probably encounter the actual person Luna was based off- Diana. She's the reason Sigma kept losing his arms and eye, since he risked his life to save her in there apparently. I think that'll go differently this time around.

There's also the problem of Kyle. In the secret ending, his consciousness has been swapped with an unknown person from before the Nevada incident, who is strongly suggested to be the player him or herself, but may be a character from 999, (I hope it's the latter).

Can't flippin wait for the third game!!

I suspect the unknown person in secret ending who swapped with Kyle is the new protagonist from the 3rd game. Even though i had the same theory just like you (he/she from 999 or the player him/herself).

But i can't imagine how Kotaro Uchikoshi can unite all this story / timeline on the third game. Hopefully, he will give an epic conclusion to us :D

The watch in the actual game we are talking about. Not the actual game itself.
