Giving Up The Ghost: The Death of Survival Horror

With the Resident Evil and Dead Space series turning their back on fear and going towards action what has happened to the need to scare gamers? Aaron looks back at where it started and where survival horrors are going. (Culture, Dead Space 3, Resident Evil 6, Silent Hill)

Dont worry, leave it to naughty dog to show everyone how to bring this genre back to life with the last of us.

we are getting last of us, and a new amnesia game. so there is that, at least

in some ways, I would say that dark souls and demon's souls are survival horror games.

dead space 1 was one of the best survival horror games ever. too bad the series quickly turned into just another third person shooter

On PC, this genre is alive and well, in fact. With The Last Of Us, Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, Outlast, and Daylight, this genre is, actually, FAR from dead!
