GDC Impressions - Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen

Due out on April 23 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 is Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen. That might sound like the sequel to last year's RPG Dragon's Dogma, but it isn't. It's technically an expansion, though it's an expansion so large that Capcom couldn't go the usual DLC route. Instead, the company decided to release it as a $40 retail disk complete with the original game for anybody who needs it.

The story is too old to be commented.

$40 for 15-20 hours more of gameplay sounds like a good deal to me. Plus, if you've never played the game, it gets even better.

yup i skipped the first game because i know capcom likes to release a gold/ultimate version later
cant wait for the super duper ultimate edition now XD
And its only 28€ here where i live :)

It would feel much more appealing to me if they could add level scaling - especially on new game plus. Without this feature, I guess it will feel appealing enought when it's price drops to something around 20 bucks.

just don't be that optimistic ....

level scaling would ruin this game as with any game that adds/have it. not everyone wants to spend hours of grinding only to have the same enemies scale up with you.

it does not increase the challenge, only the length of the battle and who in their right mind wants to spend 30 minutes fighting the same enemy that you already know how to beat?

you could always just buy a game that you enjoy that has this lame feature like skyrim.
