Thief’s Garrett to be played by Romano Orzari

Thief’s Garrett will be played by Romano Orzari in the game, according to a new community video from Eidos Montreal. As reported previously, the original voice actor Stephen Russell didn’t reprise his role as full performance capture was implemented into the game. Can’t say it was a bad choice, in my opinion anyway, plus you may recognize him from Assassin’s Creed 2 where he voiced Giovanni Auditore da Firenze. He also played him in Assassin’s Creed: Lineage, the live-action video series.

Thief is out next year on next-gen consoles and PC. (Eidos Montreal, Next-Gen, PC, PS4, Thief, Xbox One)

Lame....

Elizabeth in Bioshock was done separately, someone did the motion capturing and then the voice was pasted over it.....and guess what it worked. She was a fantastic character and you would of never of noticed that they were done separately.

If your going to reboot something, either start from scratch with a new character or get the old voice actor back. I mean we don't even know where this game is in the timeline, if he didn't have a mechanical eye I would of said it's just starting from the beginning but because he does it's confusing.

Similar to having an MGS game without David Hayter, it sucks that we'll be playing Garrett without Stephen Russell voicing him.

Russell did a great job of adding some humor and snark to the character, while this new Garrett is looking extremely serious in a "look how dark and emo I am!" kind of way. I hope the writing is up to snuff...
