World Of Warcraft released in 2004 – nearly a decade ago – and yet still people are playing it. Numerous MMOs have since risen to take on Blizzard and failed, either resorting to free-to-play or closing down entirely.

People play it mostly because of friends, and simply because it's the best mmo on the market atm. (sorry, but god how awful every single other mmo got the movement. in wow it feels pretty good. for ex. no detailed, ''realistic'' jumping. just a quick bounce up,i like it that way)

It's also fun to LAN, gather 2 friends and play 3vs3 arenas, great times :)
btw, finally got my duelist title =D

Because of the community. That was not enough to warrant the money each month for me but for plenty of others it sure is.
