New Drakengard 3 screenshots/art

Square Enix released new screenshots and art of Drakengard 3 on PS3. (Drakengard 3, PS3)

This is actually really depressing. Fans waited so long for a sequel and they don't even bother trying to make it look nice. This looks very last gen. Colour me pissed.

True but for me personally i never thought we were gonna get a new Drakengard game from Squarenix they way they have treated PS3 gamers.

It may look like very late PS2 or very early PS3 graphics but i hope the gameplay will be deep enough to compensate. It's Drakengard....it's gonna be awesome one would hope.

They haven't been treating gamers in general well at all this gen.

Its embarrassing that Wada fell oover himself - made the company fall - to favor the Xbox over the PS3, and failed as badly as they did.

That's very true. A sequel did seem unlikely.

That aside, like you said, if the gameplay holds up it'll be fine.

I think this is just a Japan-only release. Shame, I liked the first one. The second one was to robotic for my taste.

Maybe Atlus or NIS could publish it or Square could just release the game digital only outside of Japan.

ugly as sin, graphics and art-style.

I actually think it looks quite nice. Nothing earth shattering but still a nice crisp, fun looking game. Looks kinda similar to panzer dragoon also which isn't a bad thing. :D

Hope square brings it over :)

Is this a Vita title?

Have to say, 7-8 years after Lair, and Lair looks better? Sad.

And say what you will about that game, its graphics weren't one of its many issues.

Well none of the Drakengard games looked great relatively speaking. Plus it's in the same universe as Nier so perhaps they're going for cohesion. That game's graphics were pretty subpar- not that it really matters.

Nier's graphics weren't all that great, though everything else WAS.

That aside, I'm hoping it'll turn out to look a whole lot better than it does now. I mean, didn't the game just surface last week? There's still no release date, so there's plenty of time for it to improve on the visual front.

Personally, I care more about the story and how it'll play, with it being from the Drakengard/Nier set. With that in mind, I remain cautiously optimistic.
