Bravely Default: Flying Fairy Will Be Localized For The West

During the Game Developers Conference, Siliconera was able to confirm with multiple trusted sources that Bravely Default: Flying Fairy will be localized for English-speaking audiences. (3DS, Bravely Default: Flying Fairy)

Hard to tell

Hell yes! I'm really excited to pick this one up with all the good things I've heard about it. :]
dedicatedtogamers  +   693d ago
It's about time!

Just like last gen, JRPG fans are finding paradise on the handheld systems.
Snookies12  +   693d ago
Yeah, we're getting Bravely Default, have Fire Emblem, Kingdom Hearts, and SMT4 on 3DS. As well as Atelier series, Persona 4 Golden, Soul Sacrifice, and later on Ys Celceta for the Vita.

Though both the Wii and PS3 have gotten some good ones as well lately. Last Story, Xenoblade, Tales of Graces f, Ni No Kuni, etc.

I'm glad we've been getting a lot of JRPG love these last two or so years... It wasn't looking good for a while there.

@Snookies12

I know what you mean.

This gen got off to an awful start. Most of the JRPGs released from 2006-2010 were either very average to awful or didn't get localized. It's not that good JRPGs weren't being made, it's just that the best ones almost never made it over or if they did, there were massive delays like in Ni No Kuni's and Xenoblade's case.

In related news I am so glad Squeenix demoted Wada. That dumbass is most responsible for this drought.

Still waiting on type 0 Square enix. Great news for 3DS owners but give us vita owners some of that same love.
chadboban  +   693d ago
Yes! Yes! YES!! 3DS is a freaking monster this year!

Seems like the JRPG really is alive and well, we already got Ni No Kuni, Entrian Odyssey IV, Fire Emblem (well technically it's an SJRPG) and we have Shin Megami Tensei IV, Rune Factory IV, Soul Hackers, Project X Zone (technically a SJRPG as well),Pokemon X and Y not to mention the possibility of seeing Dark Souls 2 and Versus XIII. Damn 2013 is gonna be one of gaming's best years ever!

Fantastic news! *---*

"Confirmed with multiple trusted sources" translates to "not confirmed."

Wake me up when we get an official announcement. This is Square-Enix, after all. It's stupid to get your hopes up for those nitwits.

3DS is becoming the JRPG system of choice for me. Shin Megami Tensei IV is coming to NA this summer and Fantasy Life just got a U.S. trademark.

All we need are Dragon Quest VII and Shin Megami Tensei Devil Survivor 2. Atlus has been pumping out a lot of exclusives for 3DS so SMTDS2 is pretty much confirmed.

So many SMTs coming out for the 3DS
Soul Hackers
SMT 4
SMT x Fire Emblem

Now all it needs is a Persona
3 would be awesome

Day one no question. I've been waiting for this ever since it was revealed at E3 2011.
chadboban  +   693d ago
Wasn't it revealed at that Nintendo 3DS Press event in Japan around September 2011. Right before TGS I think. At least that's where I remember first seeing it.
AdvanceWarsSgt  +   693d ago
It was briefly shown at E3 if I recall (like a minute-trailer).
Trago1337  +   693d ago
Damn, I like that new President guy already lol.

Is it me or is the 3DS like THE system to get quality JRPGs on? like holy crap Fire Emblem, Shin Megami Tensei, Project X Zone, Pokemon X & Y, a new Advance Wars being talked about at Intelligent Systems, and now THIS, good lord.

Makes me laugh at those 3DS DOOM articles from a few years back LMAO.
LastXeno  +   693d ago
Kinda reminds me of what people are currently saying about Wii U.
RogueStatus28  +   693d ago
Don't forget about Shin Megami Tensei IV, Project X Zone, and Rune Factory 4 which are coming to North America this summer! Also Soul Hackers in 2 weeks. AND Monster Hunter 3U, Etrian Odyssey IV, and Fire Emblem Awakening which just came out and got high reviews.

I think the 3DS is already exceeding the DS' library, 2 years against 6. Imagine how it's going to be in 4.

I wouldn't go that far, but I agree. I don't remember seeing this much stuff so early in the DS life cycle. First party wise, Nintendo has been on a tear in the portable space.

I'm a little concerned that they may run out of gas, but Nintendo is acting differently with its portables lately. For example, those that have been with Nintendo portables for a while know how crazy 3 sets of core pokemon games in 3 years is. I wouldn't assume anything in regard to traditional Nintendo dev cycles with the 3DS.

I'M SO HAPPY
DivineAssault  +   693d ago
cool.. Project X Zone, FE, this, MH3, Shin Megami, & a few others incoming is great news.. I was a bit worried that NA wouldnt get these titles.. Looks like 3DS will have a decent yr of games.. Wheres the wii u love?? That thing needs some serious games to get its install base or publishers wont want to touch it... Maybe when smash bros comes around along with a price drop, it will pick up but PS4 is incoming & if its base model is only $400, i doubt ppl will chose a wii u over it..
daclynk  +   693d ago
keep dreaming.
AdvanceWarsSgt  +   693d ago
I would say the 3DS is having a better year than "decent". More like "phenomenal", especially when you compare it to last year.
