And now all copies of old Lucas Arts games will magically inflate in price.

Most are that bad that they won't though.

Not to piss on their grave, and it was too much for Disney to outright shut them down, but Lucasarts aren't what they were.

As I said in the story I got a bad vibe on this one Disney does movies, theme parks, and family entertainment/TV very well. However, they have never been a big force in gaming. They do or license some nice casual titles for their animated films but they have never been big budget players. I know they wanted Lucasfilm for ILM and of course Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Skywalker sound. However what I do not get is why they took Lucasarts or did not try to sell it. I imagine all things Lucas had to stay within the company, but how about this. Activision, EA, or another big publisher? They could have announced a 10 year deal for one company to be the exclusive developer of new titles under the Lucasarts banner. As it stands now, if your a publisher or developer you can deal with Disney to create new games or complete the ones that were in the works. I can see both good and bad things coming from Star Wars games developed by multiple companies. I agree that they were not what they once were as the recent releases have been lacking, but I had hoped that 1313 and the resources of Disney combined with new films would have opened a floodgate of new titles for them. Lets remember, 4.4 Billion was spent so Disney is not going to try to recoup this just on films, merchandise, DVDS, and so on. They want the revenue from games, they just do not want to spend 75-150 million for each front line game they produce.

Thanx disney u greedy piece of sh1ts for ruining LucasArts.

George Lucas let himself go to the DARK SIDE OF THE FORCE selling his company. People and Star Wars fans who worked for him prolly feel betrayed what he did. Still not sure why sold Star Wars to Disney

eh…Gilbert, Purcell Schaffer were the trail blazers in that crew. David, while he did do some stuff once, like a real long ass time ago is more like b-list personality that specializes in reminiscing and signing ops at a convention.

Still in the early stages. We won't get a reveal until two more years probably 😂

rlow1510d ago

I wish they would make another Riddick, Butchers Bay was the best.

hotnickles510d ago

You know what games I want way more than Indiana Jones? The darkness and Riddick.

Snookies12510d ago (Edited 510d ago )

Haha, completely agree... But, the fact that he is involved in this is a definitely a positive sign! Could actually be a good game!

hotnickles509d ago

You might be right. Indiana Jones will never do Jackie or Riddick stuff though. The darkness was brutal on the eyes and ears lol.

The Darkness was an underrated gem. Fantastic lore and Mike patton from Faith No More voicing the darkness is up there with the great video game voice overs imo.
