It wasn't until my third hour in the game portion of SyFy and Trion Worlds' crossmedia project that it struck me — this is the quietest MMO launch ever.
Not going to buy this mmrpg. You never buy mmrpgs when they first come out they are always buggy. Wait a couple months. The difference is extraordinary. But this game don't look appealing anyways.
They also go free to play.
This one already is
Its not free to play when I have to buy the game ;o
Sadly on the forums you will but it's still a fun game, very addictive @[email protected] P.S. I hate those wandering Lurkers!!! ( the thing you see in the picture ).
I sent a complaint to Trion today. I got disconnected during a quest area and I can't log back into that character
Maybe you don't have enough manna.
I'm waiting on an alternate way to obtain bits outside having to pay real money for them, and so far searching online a lot of players aren't receiving the bonus bits they are entitled to. Outside that I had to restart 1 mission, but I found a legendary (and got the trophy to prove it).
I am aware of kotaku's negative reputation. Though *only through reputation as this is the first time I have read one of their articles. Now I'm a bit of a prude, but this article does read a bit like an amateur blog. I'm not trying to bash anyone, but I also find it rather immature to use curse words in the work place. Even worse would be taking the time to write it out when I'm being paid(presumably) to write it. That being said, I plan on picking up Defiance on or before the fifteenth, to coincide with the show.
bought it yesterday and couldnt even play it. super irritated!
they did a patch to fix login issues if that was your problem
nope, i think by the time it was done installing and patching the servers were down for maintenance. i was irritated but no biggie, ill play later today hopefully
yea your probably right, they were down for 30 minutes so it sounds like it was just bad timing. no need to let that give you a bad impression tho, if anything its a sign that they are doing what needs to be done.
The game is really fun and it has some issues, but I like it. I just wish they released it on Next-Gen consoles.... At least it wouldn't suffer in quality!
it would prob suffer more in quality. they have been using these machines for ages ( maybe not trion in particular ) but most game devs know their way around the hardware pretty well. developing something like this on first time hardware would likely be a nightmare
Next gen hardware is pretty much off-the-shelf PC components, slightly re-jigged and customised. I don't think it'd be as hard as you think...certainly not in the way that PS3 conversions were often difficult.
Ive been playing since launch and i havent had any issues. In fact they have issued 2 patches that i know off and maybe a 3rd. Im pretty pleased so far
I am happy to know that! So you are enjoying it?
I played the beta and found it rather dull and boring.
I play is on my ps3, and I love it. It's by far the smoothest MMO launch I've witnessed, and I've played my share. It's not overly original, but what it does, it does WELL - particularly considering the sheer scale of the game! Also, the team is just close to 150 people, and they're constantly keeping us in the loop about *everything* from server downtime, fixes, bugs and even their fix priority list -- that's more than can be said about most other companies out there. Furthermore, they're frank and honest about what's wrong - they don't cover their tracks.E.g. the lag issue, Xbox exclusive, is referred to (professionally) as the "FKN LAAAG" situation.. You can tell that they still care about their product, the community and that they, seemingly, enjoy working around the clock for this project to work. It's a good game with a solid dev team behind it =) That is, ofc., just my opinion - one of the many.
