Hopefully, SMT IV will be ported to the Vita, since I don't have a 3DS.

I doubt it given the partnership between ATLUS and Ninstendo with FExSMT, im getting a 3DS for this game alone.

Good point about the partnership...I wonder what that will mean for Persona 5?

Nintendo doesn't own SMT and would not dare to cancel FExSMT just because Atlus chose to port SMT 4 to other platforms. Nintendo is in NO position to make those kinda of demands considering their lack of 3rd party support and low sales.

Atlus has never let another company own the exclusive rights to any of their games. Most Atlus games have been on ps systems, with nintendo ringing up as second, and xbox last.

@epicjrpg: Oh and as for Persona, it has never been on any other platform but playstation. It may still come to others, but putting it exclusively on nintendo systems would alienate 19 years of Persona playstation fans. 12 Persona games were made on Sony platforms, not a single one ever came to another platform (unless u count the recently released fighting game Arena).

Multiplat is the smarter was to go with Persona, just like they did with Catherine.

Funny you mention that - when SMT IV was first announced, it was mistakenly reported on many sites that the game was going to be released for Vita as well (see: http://kotaku.com/5914162/n...

Oh well, who knows, maybe Atlus will decide to release an enhanced version later on for Vita (similar to Persona 4)?

Persona seems like a franchise for Sony and SMT for Nintendo, i hope its for 3DS though if i have to choose a side i will go to the 3DS side.

Hopefully is for PS3 though, the system needs a good RPG for a change (Ni No Kuni is proof good console JRPGs exists).

@kratos:
Have u any idea how many SMT and SMT spin off games are on ps1 and ps2? I think there are just as many main SMT games on Sony platforms. However, Atlus has been putting a lot of their Srpg SMT games on Nintendo DS too like strange journey and Devil Summoner.

It likely won't be ported. ATLUS gave each handheld last gen its own exclusives and they seem to be doing the same thing this gen. Last gen, several Persona games came to PSP but not to DS. DS had its own share of SMT games that didn't go to PSP.

So far, Vita has Persona 4 Golden. If P5 comes to PS3, you can bet an enhanced port to Vita. 3DS has Soul Hackers, Devil Survivor, and now SMT4. It's gonna be the same this gen as it was last gen with DS and PSP. If you're a JRPG fan, you will want to own both handhelds.

This could be a nice new entry into the genre.
