Bioshock Infinite Review | New Rising Media

NRM: "Bioshock Infinite has entered a world of extremely high expectations.

Over the course of six years the first person shooter has grown stale, and Irrational Games are being looked to as the saviors, with a hope of reinvigorating the entire genre just like they did with the original Bioshock in 2007.

Developer ambitions and public aspirations, much like the in-game city of Columbia, are sky high. This amount of hype would ultimately lead to disappointment, as expectations would transcend any ordinary game.

But this is no ordinary game." (BioShock: Infinite, PC, PS3, Xbox 360) 9.5/10

For awhile I was a little hesitant on saying this was better than the original but now, through my second play through, I can say it is quite better than the original. The only thing I miss from the original is the big daddys.

It is a better game on a technical level, but I miss the eeriness of Rapture. You felt trapped down there. Columbia is really cool, but doesn't give off the vibe that the original Bioshock had. It's a toss up for me. Infinite is refined, while Bioshock was fresh and dark.

Understandable.. But I think I like the sort of nationalism, racist, and religious themes going on in Colombia more, feels more alive also.

You can see a Big Daddy near the end of the game. ^_^

@below, Yes. :) I think you can even see a Lil Sister next to it.

i liked this game , mostly because of the story , but the game play wasnt much fun , the 1st bioshock is balanced in terms of story and gameplay .
in infinite i found myself just killing enemies wave after wave so i could advance in the story .

so i dont think its a 10/10 , but close .
