Square Enix wanted to ship 5-6 million copies of Tomb Raider & 4.5 to 5 million of Hitman Absolution

DSOGaming writes: "Square Enix's estimated numbers were higher than those reported earlier last week, and according to a Japanese PDF report (coming straight from Square Enix), the company wanted to ship 5-6 million copies of Tomb Raider, 4.5-5 million copies of Hitman: Absolution and 2-2.5 million copies of Sleeping Dogs." (Hitman: Absolution, PC, PS3, Tomb Raider, Xbox 360)

Those numbers are so unrealistic. I mean good grief 5-6 mill is the average lifetime sales for a Gears of War or Uncharted game from their trilogies. Tomb Raider was a reboot, it had great production value but you can't expect those types of numbers.

Since when has Hitman ever come close to those numbers. Sounds like Wada may have wanted to retire and receive a severance package cause all projection numbers from recent releases seem way out in left field.

Heck I can see that and I am just an informed gamer, not an insider.

Yeah, the Hitman numbers are beyond this world. Guess they were expecting these numbers due to the movie that was released?
