This is not goodbye, more of a job well done.

As we come to the end of this generation of consoles and are now at the beginning of a new one we should all tip our hat’s and say a fond farewell to the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and the Wii. (PS3, Wii, Xbox 360)

Easy now.
The Playstation 3 show isn't over, nobody going anywhere.
Best is yet to come, more damage will be done.

As long as good games are still being released, the end isn't near.

Rocky start, strong finish. Sony did a good job turning things around and look to be coming out very strong for the PS4.

i expect the ps3 to be around at least 3 years after ps4 comes out :/ the 360 im not to sure i hope that stays around but going by Microsoft previous history i just dont know.

Looking forward I get what Microsoft is doing even though I think its the wrong move. Nintendo just wanted to keep its core audience doesn't look like the U will have the same massive sails across all demos that its predecessor had.
Sony looks to continue what it started and with the directions of the other two looks to be the most about gaming.

WTF sorry but ps3 still has alot of life left, and also Sony will still continue to support it just like they did with ps2. Well then again it has alot of life left for me since I don't get rid of my consoles, I hope my phatty never dies.

I wish you luck with that, mine died a week ago :(

Now I dont know what to do, buy a new ps3 just before the lunch of the ps4? Then I maybe pay too much for it and I would have to buy a ps2 aswell since the new ps3s dont play ps1/2 games -_-

please someone tell me what to do!

Sorry to hear a out your phatty may it RIP lol I have my original first day ps1 and ps2 and they still work like new am a clean freak especially with my consoles so I don't know if that has to do with my systems still working like new or I just been very lucky cause some of my friends have their systems died on them but it hasn't happened to me well not yet. Good luck unless you don't mind having the ps2 and a new ps3 to play your old games or just wait for ps4 and gaikai and play most of your old games hopefully all

The article is about what the consoles have done not that they are dead, that is why the title reads "This is not goodbye, more of a job well done" It was not intended to spark an outrage, only to salute the individual achievements of each one. Even though there is still life left in the 360 and PS3 this year is still the start of a brand new generation and the start of the end of the current one.

On PS3 I'm looking forward to The Last Of Us , Metro : Last Light and the criminally under the radar Puppeteer.
