Gears of War: Judgment Patch Review I Expansive

Alongside a new map and mode, Gears Judgment has received its first major title update.

Does it improve some of the game’s major issues? No, not really…

The highlight of the title update is to add improvements to the servers. These must be very subtle, minor tweaks, however, because we haven’t noticed much in the way of change. You’re still plagued with regular disconnections from the host and the game never seems to migrate to a new host, simply choosing to kick you back to the title screen. There were never any major lag issues during gameplay, but the issues with hosting remain diabolical and are in urgent need of fixing. (Gears of War Judgment, Xbox 360) 3/5

Hmm... this is odd. I haven't played a ton of MP but in my matches I haven't once had any kind of disconnect. On top of that further down this article they say

"In contrast, the AI in the campaign is as poor, if not worse, than that of Gears 3. The computer certainly won’t go out of its way to pick you up if down, and when the action gets a little crazy they’ll either be on the front line duking it out, or sat back not supporting you at all. It really is either/or"

I don't know what game they are playing but on hardened I find the squad AI to be more than helpful...almost too helpful. Only rare occassions have I been killed by a locust. 9/10 times AI is johnny on the spot picking me up if downed. It hasn't seemed like an issue in the least.

I would take this review with a grain of salt.

As indicated in the article, many of the online issues stem from Survival. I, for one, have had regular disconnects from Survival. You also must have had a very fortunate playthrough (or, indeed, I a very unfortunate one) if you haven't had issues with the AI.

Ultimately, this is one person's opinion and so people's experiences will differ. It's good to hear that your experiences have not been as bad as mine.
