Bioshock Infinite review roundup, is it a work of art?

Bioshock is finally here after almost 10 years in development, and wow what a game, currently it has a metacritic review score of an amazing 96/100, and a user score of 9.0 so critics and users agree its an amazing game (BioShock: Infinite, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

Already a game of the year contender

It's honestly tied with the original Bioshock for game of this Generation. Both have the best storytelling and settings than most games could fathom.

Yup. Both games are stupendously detailed and deep in their narrative themes, as well as being fantastically original. Ken Levine and Irrational Games take risks that most developers couldn't dream of and have the balls to tackle potentially offensive content head-on, to illustrate how flawed humanity can be and has been throughout history.

These games have beautiful art as well as having profound meaning behind them, so they are definitely significant works of art.

lol stupendously detailed? lol maybe in some areas but not others lol and the game is ok a solid 8 but not all these 10's floating around.

I just love how when you move close to the pigeons they look all pasty and when you shoot a wall or the birds nothing happens lol

I don't think they're talking about graphics only.

LOL. you again..
.
Yeah, like KentBlake said, I'm talking about the attention to detail of the world: nods to literature, other games, songs, characters, details in animation, political idealism, religion, philosophy, historical and scientific figures and events that all back up the narrative - not necessarily graphical fidelity, although the art assets are gorgeous.

The detail in this world is huge, and it goes beyond graphics. Just because you don't understand or appreciate the elements that make up the characters, world and story doesn't make the game overrated. What it means is that you were left confused by it all because you don't have the mind for it. Simple as.

and yeah... shooting a wall and pastyness of birds definitely brings down the overall experience. LOL, gtfo of here.

The game is masterpiece territory - deal with it!

It's been a while since I've enjoyed playing a game so much. I'm not a fan of FPS WRPG's but the story is so well done. I wasn't gonna get it, because I got Bioshock 2 from PS Plus and it was really really boring. But my friend convinced me to get it and I'm glad I did.

The world is deed, rich and absolutely gorgeous. This is easily in my top 5 of this gen. Once I finish it it could very well end up being my #1.
