BioShock Infinite Review -- Stealthy Box

"Very few can claim to be the types of games that you can point to when someone wants to know what makes this medium special, showcasing what interactive entertainment can offer that others can’t. This console cycle alone has offered up examples such as Portal, Mass Effect, and most recently Telltale’s The Walking Dead, but what really kicked it off was the original BioShock back in 2007. Irrational Games offered us an utterly unique setting unlike anything ever seen before, it presented the player with a brilliant antagonist and heavy themes, and the brilliant plot twist in the middle is something that would only ever work in a video game." -- Joe Garcia (BioShock: Infinite, PC, PS3, Xbox 360) 10/10

I really wish they would stop giving this game a perfect score.

Only Final Fantasy VII is perfect.

10/10 doesn't mean a game is perfect without flaws. It just means the game is a definite "Must buy" that the reviewer had a 10/10 experience with.

And just because you think another game is "perfect", that doesn't mean games that come after it can't be "perfect" too.

A ten on our scale doesn't mean the game is perfect; I discussed a couple of problems I had in the review. A game getting a 10 from us means that it's at the top of its genre, and that we'd be comfortable recommending to any gamer.

@Anthotis
Have you played BioShock Infinite at all?

The graphics are beautiful, the world is amazingly realised and feels alive, Elizabeth is the greatest female character i've experienced in a long time who i actually cared for, the combat is varied and fun, the level design for mini-sandbox combat is brilliant , the writing and plot are fantastic and... well... THAT ending.

There's a few minor flaws of course and isn't perfect, but in a world of annual sports games and brown military shooters you won't get much better than the BioShock franchise for a bit of fresh air.

If it's not 10/10 it's a comfortable 9 or 9.5/10.

It nails everything that so many games fail to achieve and i'm seriously struggling to point out any major negatives that impact the scores it has been getting.

Care to elaborate why it doesn't deserve it's praise?

Well until you get to the end it rather boring and repetitive. I didn't feel engaged in the atmosphere like I did with the first one. While it has a great story the gameplay make it far from perfect in my book.
