GTA V vs Watch Dogs vs Saints Row 4: Triple Threat Battle, Who will win?

The first and the foremost reason Watch Dogs is touted as a biggest and real threat to GTA V in open world genre is that it is designed by a team comprised of industry veterans from blockbuster franchises like Assassin’s Creed, Rainbow 6 and Far Cry. Release date for Watch Dogs is not yet announced yet, but it is expected to arrive in Q4 2013. (Grand Theft Auto V, PC, PS3, Saints Row 4, Watch Dogs, Xbox 360)

GTA V.

I like how it answers it's own question just in the order it lists the games.
iGAM3R-VIII  +   607d ago
That is probably true :P but they are all different types of games.

Watch dogs looks great but gta looks like a whole new take on the series, we really need to see more of these games

Sales: GTAV

Everything else: Watch Dogs
Brawler  +   607d ago
Totally agree. GTAV will kill sales, Watch Dogs will do well as well. Can't wait for both.

We'll see.
I find most games of Ubisoft are very linear.
There is not much else to do besides playing the story.
Gta is known for constantly reinventing itself.
Every rockstar game gets sky high ratings because the company develops every game with love.

Having enough time to develop is more important then making a loss.
Take 2 has made large losses past 2 years. But knowing gta v wil be a diamond they give rockstar al the time they need!
Thats why we can be absolutely sure that gta v will be the best.

Watch Dogs for me, definitely looking forward to GTA V though, Saints Row 4 not so much, looks far too similar too SR3.

All of them...the only thing they have in common is that they are open world metropolis sandbox games...

Ones mission based with side content

Ones tactical based with freedom of choice

Ones beating a cop to death with a dildo

All are fun, and all will be gotten...by me.

GTAV will kill the other two dead, commercially. Watch Dogs, if Ubisoft deliver will, at least from a gameplay perspective, shit on the other two from a great height. Whether or not that indeed happens remains to be seen.

I'll take GTA V and Watch Dogs. They can keep that other utter rubbish title.
Foxhound922  +   607d ago
They are all trying to achieve something different but honestly I can't wait for all of them. Although gta v and watch dogs has had me boiling for sometime now. Can't wait

Watch Dogs looks more interesting to be completely honest.

Trick question, the best Open world/sandbox of fall 2013 will be:

InFamous Second Son
Conzul  +   606d ago
But the worst selling, in proper inFamous fashion :-P
Love this franchise though.

GTA V of course. I feel that Watch Dogs is sort of different from GTA and SR and is more like indirect competition. I bet that SR4 will flop, just looking at the reception it got from the trailer. It's like SR 3.5
ironfist92  +   606d ago
To each his own. What does winning have to do with it?

I intend to play all 3, does that mean I win more?

Pointless article.

GTA5 will sell more than both the other 2 combined. Watch dogs looks very interesting. As for SR4, after the pink dildos in SR3, I don't want to touch SR ever again.

The only one I won't be buying is Saints Row. Watch_Dogs looks amazing from what we've seen, and even though we haven't seen much of GTA V, I have complete faith in Rockstar to make a phenomenal game.
Farsendor1  +   606d ago
watch dogs is what im buying and i hope sleeping dogs 2 get released in the next few years.
medman  +   606d ago
GTA will be awesome, of course. But a new ip from Ubisoft is intriguing. Based on their history, I don't expect them to fumble it, so Watch_Dogs should be phenomenal. Additionally, if it makes it in time for the launch window of the new consoles, it will be one of the first games for the new systems and that adds to it's appeal. A brand new ip for brand new systems. I'm ready right now.
josephayal  +   606d ago
SR-4 hands down
KaBaW  +   606d ago
Can't beat GTA, really. But, Watch Dogs could very well be a huge surprise.
And the fact that it's compared to these two games as a new IP speaks for itself.
I love GTA games, but as it is number 5.. I kinda am looking forward to Watch Dogs, more.
Outside_ofthe_Box  +   606d ago
I don't really see GTA V and Watch Dogs as competing with each other as I'm sure most will pick up both. As for SR, meh.
NRGuitarist  +   606d ago
GTA for me, personally.

I think Watchdogs looks wicked cool though, and I'm pretty psyched for that too :D

Saints Row '4' can keep away; about that I do not give a shit.

I trust R* to deliver something truly special. Ubisoft just don't have that kind track record I don't think. Some of their stuff rocks mega balls (far cry, rayman, earlier AC titles) and some of it blows ass through a straw (AC3 and AC3). For such reasons, whilst I think Watch Dogs looks freakin' crazy good, I'll still be a little weary until release. But GTA will rule either way!

Personal thoughts, mind.

Watch Dogs reminds me of 3 things GTA , LA Noire , and the movie Eagle Eye from a concept aspect ... Watch Dogs will definitely be one of the launch titles I get with Playstation 4
