GP writer Jared discusses his miserable experience trying to watch the PS4 unveil on Playstation Home back in February and how it ended up being a disaster and a less than ideal way to watch the conference.
Well I would probably never watch the event on home. I remember I had 7 tabs open in case one of them went down and I had my phone on the live stream. If you were smart you would relise something could go wrong which it did. Either way Sony put up a 10min summary and the entire conference on YouTube. You should of been smarter
To say it is smarter to expect Sony to fail to broadcast their own conference is really only furthering the idea Sony will run into far greater problems with the PS4.
What like a 57% failure rate? Nah don't think so.
Sony didn't fail the stream, if YOU were smart enough you would realise that if a lot of people are watching a stream, it would overload thus making the stream break down. That is why most of the streams I had open had a limit of the amount of people that can watch the stream.
Your logic is flawed
Spin it but make sure all blame goes to ms first and never and I do mean never gets back to Sony the sinless one.
These 2 things aren't even remotely related. Try harder.
Did we actually reach the point in 'gaming journalism' where we approve articles of individuals having technical difficulties with their shitty internet connection?
So the dude that lost weight at Subway writes for some blog nobody cares about? What's he doin trying to spin another problem into a career?
I watched it on the xmb and it temporarily stopped in the beginning. So I turned it on in the pc and the pc side also had issues. After like 5 mins, It was running smooth again. Later I back tracked and saw the few mins that ive missed. I dont think this issue is exclusive to HOME. Not that HOME doesnt have any issues of its own already.
nothing can ever match the 57% failure rate of the xbox 360
I watched probably 5 minutes of it using Home, I couldnt stand it, all the boxes/options on the screen, I couldnt get rid of it Told my missis shes gonna have to get off the laptop, which I then plugged into my tv, left me thinkin *why didnt I do this in the first place"
Have you ever watched a live stream before? A lot of them go down if too many people are watching them.
it was bad at alot of sites a lot of people where watching
Yea I started on 1 feed...it stopped about 10 min in so I was scrambling for another and I found a crystal clear picture and feed that went the remaining 2 hours or whatever it was. I thought it was a really good conference.
If your a girl and u use home it's a guarantee your going to be harassed
LOL...Perverted old men who stock young boys are every where in home. When ever a girl avatar pops up in Home, you always see like 100 dudes around the person disguised as a girl. Is Home still in Beta stage? If yes then this has got to be the longest Beta in history.
Its actually not like that anymore. It was like that when Home first came out and like the first 2 years.
Guys harassing women online? Well! That certainly never happens on YOUR service of choice! /s
This is exactly why I would love home to be on the ps4. Make good use of that ram. =]
Do they have open mics on home yet? Or is it just people on your FL!
You can chat with anyone in Home. You can use the phone a friend option and it works pretty well.
They had open mics before the beta opened. It was disturbing what people went around saying. There won't be fully open mics again because humans can't handle it.
Betting there's nothing about the several other streaming events from Home that worked.
I've watched E3 on Home worked fine.
I tried to watch the live stream on the blog, but it was pretty laggy, so I invited a couple of friends and we watched the rest in Home instead. Had a totally different experience. Sorry you had problems.
I watched it from the 'Whats new' section on the xmb. It played flawlessly for an hour, then the english feed went down. So I watched most of the game reveals with what sounded like an old spanish woman desperatly trying to keep up with translating what was being said lol.
This is only more than a month late. Hey should write an article on the Vita that just came out last year!
My brother watched it in Home no problem. Just asked him. Haters grasping for straws, this is how great Sony has been doing.
Someone needs a new Internet connection. It doesn't take long for my PS3 to download a 24MB file in Home. Must be his DSL connection.
It took over a week to get a high quality video file for download. Youtube, the Sony website, Home, or any streaming method, just couldn't provide the video quality or reliablilty needed to make the presentation watchable. Not even the "what's new" method provided a decent stream.
Anybody notice that when you start home it still has the beta sign I wonder will it come out beta for ps4
Cuz no other streams had issues. Oh, wait...
