Trion Worlds have been extremely impressive in their upkeep of RIFT. RIFT has a solid following and is currently the best alternative to World of Warcraft. Trion Worlds is now branching out into other genres while sticking to the MMO functionality. One such game is the soon to be released Defiance.
After 8 years of Defiance and 3 years of Defiance 2050, both titles are being sunsetted on April 29, 2021.
Me too. I remember putting a lot of hours into it before it went free to play. After, it went f2p, I didn't play it near as much, but it makes me nostalgic.
I liked the show and picked up a sealed collectors edition of the 360 game for $5 at a thrift store a couple years ago.
It had a good run honestly, way better than it had any business being, especially for it to be part of a tv series
gamigo confirmed that it has acquired major assets from Trion Worlds, known for online and console MMO games such as Rift, Defiance, Trove and ArcheAge.
The gaming industry, like any industry really, is a cruel mistress. We witness this cold reality yet again when we see the studio Trion Worlds, which was behind Rift, Trove and Archeage, having to cut over 150 workers today.
Had a blast with this during the beta. Can't wait until Tuesdays release.
So did I. The game was so fun I my mind blocked out the choppy textures and rolled with the gameplay!
Yep what this game loses visually it makes up for in pure fun gameplay wise, also the beta for me was pretty spot on, it did surprize me how good this game felt. Tuesday cannot come fast enough.
