Default Prime's Kyree Leary may like the Kingdom Hearts series a little too much. And since it's getting its own collection this Fall, he decided to discuss the games contained within and why they're relevant enough to be there.
Why they're relevant? KH 1 started it all, Re:Chain of Memories introduced the Organization and shows Castle Oblivion which is a very important place in the series lore, and 358/2 Days shows the goal of the Organization, as well as how it operates. Not to mention it gives insight into Roxas and what his life was, as well as having (in my opinion) the best/saddest story out of any of the games.
I agree with you, but I remember, back when Chain of Memories and 358/2 Days first came out, there were many people who blew them off because they only cared about the numbered sequels. At a quick glance, they could be seem as filler or meaningless side stories, when they really have important information to give with regards to the, as you said, 'series lore.'
Nice article. I really enjoy the way you write and your opinion on the KH series. Great fans think alike, right? Lol. Unfortunately, I will not be picking up the HD collections since I don't care to play the series on the PS3. It would seem like a waste of money to me, considering the games look fine on their original systems.
Thanks for the compliment, man. I'll definitely be picking up the collection when it finally comes out. It's been so long since I've played the earlier KH games that this seems like a good excuse to dive back in again. Plus, I'm pretty sure my PS2 is going to die on me soon.
You're welcome. :) I think I'm just cheap on things like this. Lol. Also, you might want to invest in a new PS2 since the production is stopping.
