The War Z producer says fans would be outraged if they couldn't lose micro-transaction items

EuroGamer: "The War Z executive producer Sergey Titov claimed that he gets a lot of fans who say they'll stop playing the zombie MMO if the developer removes the system that causes players to lose micro-transaction items every time they die." (PC, Sergey Titov, The War Z)

Okay
1 - People play this game after all the BS?
2 - Does anyone actually believe *THIS* BS?
ThanatosDMC  +   488d ago
There are actually people that play this game and defend it like it's the next best thing since getting robbed and mugged.

The forums are hilarious.

Vehemently supporting and/or defending something that's obviously bad and/or a ripoff is one of the thing's I can't stand about the current culture.

Wow this asinine statement tops even Lucy Bradshaw statement about fans enjoying the always online connection functionality in SimCity.

Those are some pretty dumb fans, if you ask me.

Why would anyone like losing everything they paid real money for? What a racket. Steal there stuff so they have to buy it again? I've never played the game but I for sure won't now.
Trunkz Jr  +   488d ago
Pay Money, Hacker kills you, you lose money. WarZ flopped big on on their method.
rezzah  +   488d ago
Microtransactions taking advantage of those who are addicted to realism?

In this case the only ones to blame are the majority (those that voted) who actually want to spend more money in the end. This will easily push money savers away.

Free to play games are made to make you want items that require real money. This method will break the will of the weak minded money savers. The more addicted you are to this game the worse the outcome will be for you; unless you are financially secure.
Caffo01  +   488d ago
I think those who voted to lose micro-transaction items are the minority, it's just the producer who states this BS because he doesn't want to stop making easy money.
rezzah  +   488d ago
Not sure if that is an assumption, but ti made me realise that I made an assumption.

The key item to this article is the voting results, which they didn't provide...

i look at it like this....

what makes sense being permanant in the game ?... idk backpacks or something

why have anything to buy at all ?
maybe some antidotes for some diseases .. but shouldnt be nothing like guns or ammo

why buy it ?
stupidity

if your willing to buy the stuff than thats you... but it will keep smart people from buying just on principle these type of games with microtransaction ruins the experience for me
..

but everytime you kill someone and take the stuff they paid real money for would be priceless... if i checked someones bag and they had something in it that they paid for... id kill them and troll them endlessly... but good thing i dont play this game

i would be outrage if there was more and everything was micro-transaction

What I don't understand is that this game is still selling on Steam. Sometimes you just have to accept the fact that there are idiots in the world.
Stefanrules7  +   488d ago
1. I just paid $5 for a baseball bat!

2. After walking 5 steps with my weapon a hacker kills me!

3. WTF is this shit, he just killed me and didnt get my weapon. Im outraged , this is bullshit!
Bhuahahaha  +   488d ago
i think the producer is a zombie himself
brain must've been melted

Just play day z problem solved.
hazelamy  +   488d ago
and he went on to say the sky is actually brown, but dulux have brainwashed people into thinking it's blue to sell more blue paint.

actually, i think i'd be more inclined to believe that than what he actually said.

they like it cause if they can lose things then they can also gain them by killing others. kill a guy and hit the jackpot. so an item one guy buys can be spread around to a lot of people when others are killed and looted. hell ive found piles of good gear where someone got trapped by zombies and killed. fight my way thru them or lead them somewhere else and bam i got a nice payday
Bimkoblerutso  +   488d ago
And therein lies the idiocy of the game's design. Give people relative anonymity and the means to be dicks...and they will ALWAYS be dicks.
Th3 Chr0nic  +   488d ago
truth is a lot of people like to be dicks. a surprisingly large number in fact
Saryk  +   488d ago
What I don't get is why people give a rat's ass what other people play?

And another thing I don't get is why did I come here and say that!
WUTCHUGUNNADO  +   488d ago
How about giving the individual player the option of losing or keeping the stuff he paid for when he died... that would be much better.
